Top Area Girl Players returning next year
With West a first year team, I am just interested in who some of the better players are that we will be playing next season?

Should be some interesting battles coming now with Minford, West and Northwest having all girl teams. Know Minford has some strong girls coming up out of youth program and Northwest has some girls coming back into soccer now that they have a HS girls team. Would be interesting to see other HS get a team what that would do for girls soccer in the area.

Minford only adds a few new ones in the freshman class and will have lost 12 seniors but they do return 10 starters, including the majority of the goal scorers from last season. Really hope a few more SOC schools step up and start programs soon so we can have a girls SOC. It's been long overdue.

West is still building and loses some experience. Don't know anything about NW but glad to hear they have a team. I had no idea Minford was returning that many starters. Good luck to all the girls teams and hopefully a few more schools step up.

Re: Top Area Girl Players returning next year
Minford typically started two freshman, one senior, and eight juniors so they have a lot coming back. I was immpressed by the numbers West had last year. I know in years past they could have easily played all girls with subs on their boys teams. I understand Northwest has about 40 girls interested which will probaby equal to a solid 20 or more for their team. Looking forward to next season.

Northwest had around 40 girls show interest, figure half them will fizzle out due to conditioning and other sports. Then you will get those late decision makers wanting to join before the season begins. Minford should be a strong team with that many returning starters. I have to admit that I haven't seen any girls HS games. What type of style do they normally play?

I got to watch part of a boys indoor game today and there were a couple of girls playing on the Minford team. I'm pretty sure they play for minford and if they are part of the ones returning then they definitely have a lot going for that team. The one scored at least half the goals today.

My understanding is that Dave Munion has stepped down at Minford and Lonnie Throckmorton is coaching at NW.allsportsfan1995 wrote:Who are the coaches at Northwest and Minford
