SCOL TALK AND RESULTS BOYS AND GIRLS
Re: SCOL TALK AND RESULTS BOYS AND GIRLS
25 straight regular season wins for Chillicothe is very impressive! Unfortunately, going into the D1 central tournament again will be a tough task! I was looking on OSSCA and saw that they have not score a post season goal since 2010....that's hard to believe.
Re: SCOL TALK AND RESULTS BOYS AND GIRLS
CAVs in the post-season the last few years = not pretty
2005-2010 = 6 straight District appearances (4 District Finals and 2 District Semi-Finals)
Since then... 2 league titles but exited tourny in the first round.
CHS squad was really weak in 2011.... played a good Marietta squad away.
Played a good Waverly team in 2012, Cavs didn't come ready to play and Waverly dominated play.
2013 was back to D1 and Hilliard Darby, played well for the most part, but was just not up to the competition.
Have to do better this year.... has been a big time focus for team since the Hilliard loss a year ago. Offense is better this year and still improving, defense has been solid.
Still, Central District D1 is a different animal... hard to get prepared playing only a few D1 opponents. With the SCOL wanting to play all league teams home-and-home it allows for 4 non-league games. Great for AD's who want easy scheduling but severely limits our ability to put a schedule together that would more adequately prepare us for tournament play. We have 4 non-conference games to work with.
No offense to our league opponents... but Chillicothe plays Wash CH Tuesday, Miami Trace Thursday, then travels to Dublin Scioto Saturday.
On the flip side....Dublin Scioto played State #2 Dublin Coffman (7-0-0) last night, they play powerhouse Dublin Jerome
(8-0-0) Tuesday, and Pickerington Central Thursday. A little harder schedule. Scioto will be more prepared for the game because they are constantly tested.
This will be a good barometer game for Chillicothe in mid-season. It will give a good indication of how far we have come from last year, and how far we still need to come to compete at year's end. It will definitely point out weak areas and help guide future practices.

Re: SCOL TALK AND RESULTS BOYS AND GIRLS
There are still many coaches in our league not putting their results on the OSSCA website on a consistent basis. It would be helpful if we could all do that... Thank you.

I would agree. I am not a soccer coach just a fan but the teams in the league seem to hide there results or they are hard to come by.Bucknuts wrote:There are still many coaches in our league not putting their results on the OSSCA website on a consistent basis. It isn't just soccer, some coaches seem to think that you can scout by seeing results? That's crazy, just post your results, it's not a big deal.wch125 wrote:I would agree.
