SOC Soccer 2014

Post by 4thgoal »

How does everyone think the SOC will go this year?
SOCII
Burg - returns nearly everyone from their trip to the regionals last year and are possibly the pre-season favorite
Waverly - lost around 10 kids to graduation, but still have Purpero and Bradley.
Northwest - lost their leading scorer to graduation, but Amburgey will be tough
Minford - lost 8-9 to graduation and lost Piguet to football. Will be tough to replace their entire defense, best midfielder and leading scorer.
West - lost 8-9 to graduation as well

SOCI
South Webster - return nearly everyone and should cruise through the SOCI again
Valley - Montavon's scoring and assists will be tough to replace, but they could be somewhat improved, but low in numbers
Clay - losing Sarajlic, Pelphrey and Curley will be tough
New Boston - not sure how many kids they lost to graduation?

With both Minford and Waverly losing so much to graduation it most likely will be Wheelersburg's to lose. We, at Waverly, have a lot of young talent coming up the ranks and could start as many as 8 freshman and sophomores. It will be a fun year and as always the goal is another title.

I see that South Webster scheduled a game with Athens this year. That is a good non-conference game for them to start the season.
