While a typical girls high school team would not see that many shots, let alone saves... Our area is somewhat unique. Our top tier teams are usually district level teams and our bottom of the barrel teams could be beaten by most u-10 club teams. That being said, when you have that kind of discrepancy between league teams and outside teams to fill a schedule the "shot count" skyrockets. While some coaches deem anything a keeper touches as a save, that doesn't help the numbers. I challenge each of you to go watch one of these ZERO win teams and see how many "Shots" the keepers do actually make.
This is true that we have some teams that are at the bottom and play games vs teams "at the top", however we are talking about an average of 20+ saves a game. The quality of teams they are playing dont have players who are just sitting there peppering the net the entire game. These numbers are like you said, every time they touch the ball. I've not even seen them play and we know this is the case.
You aren't getting 47 saves in 2 games in a 1-0 loss to a 1-4-1 west union team who's scored 8 total goals all season and a 3-0 loss to a 3-2-1 northwest team. That's just not happening.
