I guess with the rain the night the real value of having a turf field was seen.

I guess with the rain the night the real value of having a turf field was seen.

Minfords field was under water this morning and they’re hosting Waverly tomorrow night. I’m not sure if the game will be played or not but I would assume the grass will be horrible for the remainder of the season if they proceed.

I know they had a turf project community fundraiser going, not sure where that stands as of today but they could definitely benefit from having turf. With almost all the local schools getting or having turf you would think the school district/school board would take care of it…

Benefits of turf are the lack of mud and the longevity of the field... if they're taken care of.

A a player and official, schools in the area like South Webster and Unioto that have great natural playing surfaces are much easier to run a cut on. Injuries are fewer, and if set up properly, will drain as well as a turf field... if they're taken care of.

Officials or coaches? Not sure what led to the yellows, but coaches can led by example and correct these issues as well.

Burg player received a yellow for excessive celebration after a goal and Burg coach received one for speaking up about MANY missed fouls. One being a two handed shove in the back inside the box by a NW player on a Burg player WITH the ball. Northwest received 3-4 yellow cards. One player in particular was called for 4 more rough fouls AFTER he received a yellow card. So yes the officials did lose control of this game.
