Re: Junior High Soccer Tournament
Wow! Unioto Gold is playing their best soccer now, but I feel any of the "final four" can pull out a victory! Good Luck to everyone!
Amvets - I try to make life hard for everyone!
If I didn't have so many soccer leagues/teams to run I guess we wouldn't have this problem!
How about bringing your girls down for Futsal this year?
Are you going to do the 3v3 Tournament in March again this year? If you are interested, my 3v3 company might be able to assist you with this! If so, please shoot for the last weekend in March if possible (I have B-Ball Tournaments at the YMCA the second and third weekends...scheduling nightmare, I know! )
As far as the WHS Girls Program, it doesn't look good!
From what I have been told, the school board's response was (ONCE AGAIN) "We don't have the money!" Despite the fact that there are businesses out there willing to SPONSOR the program! It is very sad really...

Unioto Gold vs. Waverly for the Championship on Saturday at 5:30.
A rematch of last season's Championship game, which Waverly won 4-3.

Thursday, October 23
#2 - Waverly = 2
#3 - Chillicothe = 0
#1 - Unioto Gold = 3
#4 - Zane Trace = 0
Championship Match is Saturday at 5:30PM
#1 - Unioto Gold vs. #2 - Waverly
Not only is this a rematch from last year's Championship Match, but this will also be the third time these teams have met in 2008! Unioto took home the win in both of the previous matches (4-1 and 2-1). Unioto currently stands undefeated and Waverly only lost the two matches to Unioto!
Should be a chilly, wet evening for a great rematch! See you at the field!

Re: Junior High Soccer Tournament
Waverly has a super quick offense and tall, fast defense. Should be a nice matchup with Unioto's small, quick forwards.
Unioto is 16-0-0 and has only allowed 5 goals all season, but Waverly was about an inch from a tie the 2nd time around.
I will say, it's a good thing that that will be the last game on Unioto's field this season, especially if we get that rain that we are expecting. Should be a great match.

Dani, sorry I have not been able to attend any of the matches my new found freedom has been consumed by actually doing work around the house.
I will reline the field Saturday afternoon and will be at the Championship game that evening.
Good luck to both teams !

Re: Junior High Soccer Tournament
Unioto wins 3-1.
Mallory Retherford and Kyleen Muirhead each had a 1st half goal to make it 2-0 at the half for Unioto. Sean Finley scored early in the 2nd half to make it 3-0, but to Waverly's credit, they never quit and Gary Cooper had a beautiful goal to cut it to 3-1 with about 15-20 minutes left. Brenson Zambarrano made a couple of great plays in goal in the waning minutes as Waverly kept the pressure on.
Unioto finishes 17-0-0 on the season.

Re: Junior High Soccer Tournament
Thank you pc. Congrats to you as well on a great season.
There was a lot of talent on the field last night and throughout the tournament. The future looks bright for all 4 schools who entered the tournament.
