The SOC actually does not use a point system at all. But it helps Keegan to have a point system so he can figure it out. He doesn't do fractions well.

Basically a tie counts as a half a win and a half a loss. Some people find it easier to give 2 points for a win and 1 point for a tie rather than 1/2 a win: ie Waverly would have 1.5 wins when counting or 3 points by this system which simply doubles the win total and thus discards the fractions.

Actually Clay shut themselves out in the second half by trying to lay back and play defense and protect a 7-3 halftime lead and not being nearly as aggressive in the second half as they were in the first. They finally starting moving the ball forward late in the game and had a few shots on goal and kept NB from attempting many shots. If their coach allows that to happen to often it's going to bite them in the rear.

Great win by the Panthers and congrats to Jon Valentine on getting his first goals of the season with three goals and two assists. His sister Anna "The Beast" Valentine went down with an injury and hopefully she'll be back soon.

Burg_Grad_77...In my years of coaching and watching the beautiful game, I have never been a fan of going into a defensive posture. IMO it just clutters things up. Players get confused in their marks and it causes way to much congestion. Nice post!

It is true and unfortunatly Waverly has had to forfeit their first three games of the season. The player in question made up his work over the summer to be eligible but was still ineligible because of Waverly's attendance policy.
A breakdown in communication between the AD and new coach resulted in this not being recognized until it was too late.
It is a very unfortunate situation but the players and coaches are moving past it and looking forward to the rest of the season. Even though the W's are now L's we, as a team, believe that until we are beaten on the field nothing has changed.
