Valley finally gets in the win column.
In the words of Coach prime “we comin’” speaking of valley. They have had a lot of success in the junior high level and start a lot of younger players this year on varsity. If they could convince some of the boys to only play soccer next fall instead of both major sports, they’ll be a handful for the next 3-4 years.

Only one player plays significant minutes on both sports this year. One other is the kicker. With valley being such a small school and fielding teams in both sports, I see where you are coming from, but we can’t afford to have kids picking only one sports. Our best athletes need to be our best athletes and let them play both. We don’t have the numbers to specialize one sport. As long as the coaches understand that and work with eachother, it will be fine.

Unioto - 6
North Adams - 2

Athens-3
Bishop - 3 Two top teams in a dandy mid season matchup.

Webster - 3
Northwest - 2
Another battle of some of the top teams in d3. Man was it a dandy as well. Def worth the price of admission. Northwest took the lead with 6-7 min to go, but Webster scored 2 goals in the last 2 minutes to steal the win. The last goal was with under 10 seconds remaining. Wow

Big time game next week when Minford heads to the Burg. Don't want to miss that one!

I see burg winning this without much problem. I'm not sure minford has the horses to run with the pirates

Minford doesn't have backups, they have more starters. They have plenty of horses.

Western beat Piketon 6-2 (slight correction not that it totally matters though)

Congratulations to Burg’s Max Hagens on scoring his 100th career goal in the 4-2 win over Minford tonight.

Congrats Hagans. 100+ in less than a full 4 seasons is extremely impressive. Sidenote: tired of seeing Wheelersburg alumni officiating Burg's big SOC matchups.....

That “alumni ref” is not giving any competitive edge.. obviously you don’t see the terrible calls he makes, the blatant missed calls and the lack of knowledge for the rules that he displays, that all go against wheelersburg.

Haha truth. But if i'm not mistaken 2/3 were alumni.

This falls on the AD. Every year there should be a few games circled on the schedule (i.e. burg & minford) that require officials from nowhere near either school district. I know... easier said than done, but you can dang sure try.

I'll stop my rant- good luck to all local teams tonight.
