3-2 Athens.
Athens scored the winner with 8 seconds left. Very good scrimmage for both teams.
Felt more like a regular season game.

These two teams always seem to play hard when they meet. I'd say this is a growing rivalry. Thanks for the update and congrats to the Bulldogs.

Answered quite a few questions as far as Chillicothe is concerned. That's what scrimmages are all about.
Athens was just what Chillicothe needed. They played hard and aggressive.
Needed to put a young, small defense to the test. Played with only 3 defense back most of the day by design. (3-5-2) Athens went long and over the top quite often which gave the Chillicothe defense problems. Athens played strong and physical, this too gave Chillicothe problems in certain areas. Lack of size is a concern. Players must learn to play faster to avoid physical mismatches.
For having 5 in the middle Chillicothe was rarely "in control" of the midfield. Chillicothe has many players that have solid technical ability, ball possession should have been much better. Not that many combinations put together.
Skowronek was solid up top, but needs more help.
Many mistakes were made by a young team, (Started one senior, 5 juniors, 5 sophomores) including a couple critical errors at goalkeeping.
Defensive pressure was a problem. Fitness needs improvement. Communication was poor. Intensity needs turned up.
There is a lot of room for improvement. Let's leave it at that...

Not wanting to diss anyone but I was at the scrimmage and was talking to some parents who are upset that the Chillicothe HC is coaching his daughters club team this fall in addition to CHS ? What the hell is up with that ???

Chillicothe hosted the Miami Trace Panthers tonight and came away with a well played 7-1 decision. Many improvements were made from Saturdays scrimmage with Athens. The Cavaliers will now spend the next few days getting better as they prepare to play Zane Trace on Saturday in the annual event which benefits the Larry Cox Scholarship Fund! Chillicothe will open the regular season at home on Thursday the 21st in a league contest vs Gallia Academy. Good Luck Cavs!!!
