In my opinion Cody Warren is deserving but so is Isaac Blanford from Waverly. My recommendation is co mvps. I would like to have both on my team. Co champs co mvps.

SOC I: I would choose Robert Waugh, Michael Salisbury, Connor Scott or Brice Patterson.
SOC II: I would choose Evan Price first, Isaac Blanford second and Cody Warren third.

SOC II : Too close to call between Warren and Blanford...Co-MVP's would be the most PC way to go! Both these kids are GREAT Futsal players as well!

My Vote goes to Blanford for the reason that the only games he was slowed were the games in which he was marked by 2-3 guys. Very good season and also mentoring Roseberry who is a freshman.

What about the German exchange student fom West, Kevin -----? I would say he is one of the best soccer players in the area. I saw him do thing with a ball I've never seen before.

The German Exchange Student does have great foot skills but often we need to look past the foot skills and look at how that player involves his team to lead them to victories. IMO... POY should be a very skillful player that is also a leader on the team defensively or offensively. I believe that player should be looked at as one that makes the biggest difference on a team. Often we get caught up looking at individuals who score the most goals but what about that player that sets up that goal or the defensive player or goalie that doesnt allow any goals. Many players can have many goals against weaker teams but what about the ones that score against the tougher teams or the assist to someone that makes a difference in that tough game. Some of these features are ones that ellicit a good player. I think those players should be a leader on and off the field and demonstrate good sportsmanship on the field also. WE all need to focus more on team play than individual play and that would make southern ohio soccer more competitive and then and only then would we see many of these atheletes that would be in the running for this award. Let's start looking past the goals and see the bigger picture. I have watched many defensive players this year that gets very little recoginition or that mid fielder that controls the game to create chances that otherwise would not happen. The great thing about this sport is that it takes every player in every position to play it to the best of their ability to get the win at the end of the game. Don't look over some of these important players! By now, I'm sure the votes have already been cast and should be announced any day but we can still discuss other players that made such a difference in our opinion. Congrats to whomever that player may be.

Great post Sports_Tracker!
I have said it before and if there is one player for Waverly that I would consider "irreplaceable" it is their midfield captain, Rheadon Remy.
With Waverly's three forward attack, it placed great pressure on Remy to control the midfield and he did a great job defensively and offensively this season!

I expect you can find out tonight in the Scioto Voice as it will hit some stores then. I assume that it will be published as Soccer and Volleyball lists were sent to them this week. The Voice's editor sent them onto me, I have them on my computer and will post them as soon as they are published in the regular papers. I don't know if the editors were asked to hold them. I expect the Times got them Monday too though I have not seen them in there yet.
But I need to type of the district honors lists this week or no one is ever going to see them.

Congrats to Isaac Blanford (SOC II Player of the Year) and Coach Murphy (Coach of the Year) and the rest of the Waverly Tigers that made the All-SOC II Team!
Way to go out "on top" Coach!

Who is Rheadon Remy? He obviously didn't have much impact on the games because i have never heard of him. I have seen Waverly play numerous times and each time they have not controlled the ball in the center of the field.

It is not surprising you have not heard of Remy because he will never lead the team in scoring or assist but he is a kid that keeps his mouth shut and does his job. I agree somewhat with pcohio in the fact that his impact on the team is irreplaceable. He is not flashy in his style but he is a very good fundamental and smart soccer player and most of all a team player. Everywhere in the midfield there was #10 almost in some games like there were two of him playing all 80 minutes. I for one look foward to see his game grow to another level. The game that stands out from what i heard from several different people minford included the game at Minford for the Tigers Remy was hurt early on a play he played in and out the rest of the game but never close to 100% the midfield which is his area was not controlled like the tigers are used to if he is healthy maybe a different story. So Who is R Remy? He is a very important piece to a SOC championship Team and off the pitch a very nice young man. Congrats #10 you earned that SOC first team award and showed why the team beleived in you to be Caption keep it up.
The Tiger Eyez are Upon You!!!!!!!!

To tigersports.
I am sure that Rheadon is a great kid. But what I dont understand is why they would choose a Junior captain when they had so many great leaders in the senior class.
