South

South Webster 13-0
Wheelersburg 10-3
Ironton St. Joseph 5-6-2
South Point 4-7-1
New Boston Glenwood 5-9-1
Portsmouth Clay 4-8-3

Portsmouth West 2-12

With South Point rumoured to be dropping out of boys tournament the seeding between Clay and New Boston will be close, with the higher seed playing St Joe and the lower seed playing Whbg in round one (If the top plays the bottom). IMO Clay should get the higher seeed considering NB got a win from the Forfeit they recieved from Waverly after a 8 - 0 loss. Plus Clay beat NB 7-5 and tied 3-3. Will be interesting to find out how it goes on Sunday. Clay plays Eastern on Saturday, and with a win it might not matter.

SP is not going anywhere, the girls off of SP's co-ed team are going to be on their own playing in the girls tournament with the boys doing the same. Therefore SP will have a boys only team entering the tournament. But the girls team will get the lowest seed having played no games this season, therfore no argument can be made for them to get any other seed. The co-ed record will carry to the boys seeding, so the 4-7-1 that you have up there is what SP will have at the boys seeding.

Thanks for the clarification. I don't think anyone else had mentioned that fact, so it looks like SW should get a 1st round bye, with Whbg vs West, St Joe vs SP and Clay vs NB.

Looks like they played mostly WV schools. They have a player listed as scoring 43 goals.

Check out this site.

D-III boys

SOUTH

#1 South Webster (14-0)bye in first round plays winnner of

#4 South Point (4-9-1)
#5 St Joesph (2-2-1) no show draw but other post show them (5-7-2)

#2 Wheelersburg (10-4)
vs
#7 Portsmouth West (2-13)

#3 New Boston (5-9-1)
vs
#6 Clay (4-9-3)

Not sure how NB with a 5-9-1 with a forfiet win (8 - 0 lost to Waverly), and South Point at 4-9-1 gets seeded over 4-9-3 Clay. St Joe was a no show so that is why they dropped to 5. Clay beat NB 7-5 and tied them 3-3 but are seeded three lower? Works out well since they play them as a #6 seed vs #3 and avoided SW in the second round (if they win). Of course avoiding SW in the second round only puts you up against the Burg. :122248

Good luck to all area teams!

#4 Valley (8-5-3)
#5 Eastern (3-10-0)

#2 Alexander (6-7-2)

vs winner of
#3 Belpre (11-2-2)
#6 Adena (0-1)? That is what the sheet says.

St. Joseph Flyers are 5-7-2 with New Boston away on Monday and Ports. West on Thursday @ home.
Unfortunatley, I had the time mixed up with the next meeting which is @ 3pm on the 25th. We are fine with playing South Point @ South Point. I do feel however that we may have deserved a higher seed. We have played well this season. Had we had all our players playing in all games our record would be different.

i think st. joe should've been a #3 seed. they are a good team that has shown major improvement and are playing good soccer right now...i think they are better than their record for sure.

I agree with your FS. My thoughts were

#1SW
#2WHBG
#3ST JOE
#4CLAY
#5NB
#6SP
#7 WEST

Even with that seeding Clay would have still played NB in the 4-5 slot and St and SP would have played in the 5-6 slot.

St. Joe should beat the Pointer boys since their best player is out with a broken leg and also they will be without 3 or 4 starters who are girls. Good Luck to them both however.

my2cents- Adena's record is stated as that, because they only played one varsity team all year. This is their 1st year and they have played almost all JV teams.

I really think that they can have a solid program if given a chance, there always seems to be athletes in Frankfort, Roxabel, and Clarksburg.
