Well the positive is that they had a girl early in the 1st half and with 3 minutes left in the game. What a joke

Understand your feelings on the score of the Lynchburg game, without being at the game it would have been very hard to understand the score, if I hadn't, I would be right with you. Halftime 8-0 starters did start the second half with the intensions of working the ball around making the extra pass by 10 minutes into the second half all were on the bench and only freshman and sophmores with 2 juniors that dont play much on the field. With this being the first game of the year the subs need to work on their game to.
Their center mid who committed to morehead on a athletic scholorship to play soccer played not even half the game and only scored 1 goal, could have had been more but did not try to shoot she was getting the outside freshmen mids into the game. That is what you do to improve your team for later into the season.
Like I said all, the score does look very bad but other than not letting your subs play the game (which is not fair to them) by letting them move the ball around and work on the things they need to do to include scoring I don't know what else. I guess you could continue to move the ball around and play keep away then you make people mad for doing this because then it looks like you are toying with them.

Bexley beat Circleville 3-0, not a bad showing for them.
Circleville travels to Unioto on Saturday for another big early season matchup for both.

Southernohiosoccer.... how about some help on the lynchburg clay boy's scores over on the boy's thread. annually finding their scores is like locating the holy grail, impossible. according to ossca.org they have played 3 games already, 2 of which aren't updated. do you know their scores vs MT 8/20 and Ripley 8/24? Post on the boy's thread if you have them please!

The starters were being pulled after the 10 minute mark in the first half. The starters played less than that in the second half. The players were instructed to not shoot unless they were inside 12 yards. Freshmen scored 4, sophomores scored 3, juniors scored five, seniors scored 2 and there was one own goal. Most of the upperclassmen who did go back in the second half played in new positions other than where they started. I respect the game, the opposing team and their coach enough not to embarrass them by playing keep away. I did that several years ago and had a parent of the other team plead with me to stop. I did and vowed I would never do it again. All coaches find themselves in this position at sometime in their coaching career. It is a difficult situation. You cannot tell your bench players to not try to score and expect them to feel that they are a part of the team. You have an obligation to your starters to keep them sharp. Coach Rivas did not complain. One on their assistant coaches thanked me after the game for our play. We play all of our county rivals. Sometimes the competition is close, sometimes it is not. We put restrictions on our players to fit the competition. It is easy to sit 40 miles away and criticize. I respect you as a coach and I enjoyed our match last season at the district tournament. I would expect you to have a great season given the strength of you roster. I usually enjoy reading your informative posts because they have insight. This was an exception and was not appreciated or deserved. Dennis West Lynchburg Clay Soccer
