Junior High Soccer Question

This may be the wrong forum to post in, however I wanted to make sure that soccer folks see this. Northwest may be making a move to field a junior high team. The team would not function as an "officially" backed school team (no financial backing....Northwest sponsored in team name only).
My questions are the following:
Are there any other Scioto County teams who do/or are thinking of doing the same/how do you have the team setup to support itself?
What schools within in Lawrence, Adams, Pike, and Ross counties have Jr. High Teams?
Thanks in advance,
Chum

Can't help you with funding or self support, but I can tell you about some of the schools who have teams.

Ross:
Adena
Chillicothe
Southeastern
Unioto
Zane Trace

All have teams and I know that Chillicothe, Unioto, and ZT are all funded through the schools, but not sure on the other two.

Pike County has Waverly and Pike Christian. Not sure if Piketon did this year or not, but it seemed like an every other year type thing for them. Waverly is school sponsored and so is Piketon when they play.

South Point, I know had a team who was a club team and so did South Webster at one point as well.

Hope this helps somewhat and good luck with that. It will make the HS program even stronger if they just have kids being active as teammates before being thrown into the fire as freshmen.

I believe the U15 team from Wheelersburg played some junior high teams from Ironton St.Joseph, Russell and Ashland Holy Family last year.

Northwest was not able to get a jr. high team established...yet. The U15 team this year has 23 participants so the interest on behalf of the kids is there. U12 has two teams with big numbers also. Parents are very supportive...the soccer community is slowly establishing itself and getting more organized than in the past. Throughout the county it is going to take several districts close by Northwest before they take the plunge. If the numbers stay strong it would definately help make the case.
