i heard the game time was moved from 6pm, not sure why. anyone know the new kickoff time???

It is Wheelersburg's Youth Soccer night tonight before the game. They are going to have a quick ceremony to recognize the youth teams and then the game will kickoff.

This should be a great game to watch. They always step it up for each oher! Good luck to both teams!

new kickoff time is at 7 WPT (wheelersburg pirate time) at the newly renovated stadium... cant wait to see the speed of the pirates tonight on the new turf. the coach boll long ball should be lethal on the turf. so depending on how many offsides calls the pirates get should decide this one... i think you see a inspired burg team tonight as they play a rival at the new field. this one gets out of hand early in the second half. WE ARE BURG!

wow 6-2 bunt pirate? i understand you saying the long ball will work better for burg on the turf but 6 goals is a little much on a team like SW. Sw will kill them on possession but burg will keep booming it down field and hope for a few chances, with that said i think burg strikes first, and then again late in the game to come out on top. but it will be a close game. Sw has shown glimpses of being very good but cant seem to finish when they need to. if that trend continues, the pirates will steal this one. i think this will be a classic burg-sw game. should be fun to watch. will anyone be giving updates?

the jeeps have only given up 2 goals in 4 games. i doubt they'll give up 6 or even 3 to the Pirates. their defence is too gritty, not to mention the beast in the pipes. one of the best goal keepers i've seen in the area all year in my opinion. i'll take SW 3-0.

Wheelersburg has nearly 350 kids in their youth soccer program this year. Between all of the parents, uncles, cousins, neighbors, and grandparents that will be there to take pictures of the kids for youth night, it should be a nice crowd. Wheelersburg's U15 teams will be playing a 30 minute scrimmage on the field at 6:00 and the youth teams will be introduced at 6:30 while the teams are warming up.

SW has had a tight defense so far this year, but they haven't been very productive on the scoring end (4 goals in 4 games). Burgs opponents so far are 4-5-1 and SWs are 3-8-3. I will go with Burg 2-1 in a close one.

4th and Goal has the score right. 2-1 Burg. The jeeps will struggle with the Pirates high pressure offense. It'll be a great game tho.

This will be a blowout if sw plays like they did against valley the other nite. Sw struggled to score on valley so they will definitely struggle tonight. thats crazy about the crowd, 350 kids is an awful lot to have a scrimmage on that new field, hopefully there is more than 2 refs LOL but i do think SW wins this one as they will go back at the boot and run ball of the pirates and beat them at they're own game. Ill go out on a lim and say Jeeps 7 Burg 4 high scoring afair with probably a few bookings for sure. good luck

There are currently 0 SOC teams that can score in bunches against other GOOD teams. This will be a great matchup between two historically good soccer teams but neither team has the talent this year to put up big goals or really play beyond SOC

After seeing Burg play the other night, I think they have to work on their shot-taking. They were getting the ball down the field all night but they couldn't finish off. 4 goals on 8 shots on goal, and 3 of those 4 goals came off of goalie errors. They will have limited chances against the Jeeps, so they better capitalize, or they will be in trouble.

On the flipside, SW seems like a very balanced team. No one on the team stands out above the rest. They work well together and can move the ball very fluidly. They will keep this one close, but I think Burg is too quick for them and gets one to fall in.

Will be good game. Both teams will play hard. Should be interesting to see who can create goals. Finishing has been tough for both. 2-1 pirates. Defense for both will need to stiffen up. Great game to watch always.

I have to agree. This will be a great game to watch with plenty of excitement. I'm hoping the Jeeps can come out with the win, but it's a toss up for sure. We'll see...

Wow, great game tonight there sure was a large number of youth players there. The new field was a unbelievable playing surface. Good luck to both teams the rest of the season.

agreed! boomball/bootball whatever you want to call it, it doesn't work. Unfortunately for Burg, turf field only makes it worse, not better. Even though SW is down from years past, their style and coaching proves
to much for Burg's southern ohio game
