Surprised there is not a thread started on this game. Haven't seen any talk on here about this key match-up. (See plenty on Facebook and Twitter from the players, just not on here)
These two teams took the last two years off playing each other... I don't think Chillicothe has ever played a regular season game vs Unioto on their current field. Last time Chillicothe had a game at Unioto they were still playing on the football field. They have hooked up at Chillicothe a couple times, and twice at the VA in recent years. Seems strange, but true.
Chillicothe came out a little flat in the first half at Waverly. I can't see that being a problem in this game, especially coming off a loss.
Chillicothe still has a couple players nursing bad ankles, they will be game time decisions. (They would probably have to be in a body cast to keep them out of this one!) This one is important, but there is still the league and the tournament to consider also.
Hope the rain holds off for the game.... should be a great crowd and a great game.

Unioto is down their #2 scorer due to some dubious officiating (might have been correct, but the referee had no business doing the game) and that could be a big factor as Chillicothe has game planned Unioto very well in the past matchups.
Unioto has given up less than a goal a game, which is much more important than the amount that they have scored. Their center backs are excellent and active and I think they will be the difference in the game. My guess is Unioto 1-0, but if it does rain, I can see each team scoring a couple of cheapies. I'm very excited for this match, should be a great atmosphere.

Should be a great game and too bad the 'U' girls side will be out of town and unable to support their male counterparts. Best of luck to both teams and stay healthy !
Dani, I heard a VERY disturbing story about the ref / red card in the Leesburg game. He had absolutely no business doing that game and should be totally ashamed. Very sad. You know what they say about karma...

Unioto 5
Chillicothe 1
Casey Zupi ties the Unioto school record with 5 goals. Unioto now at 11-0 and travels to Gallia Academy next.

I take it Zupi is Unioto's #1 scoring threat? Sounds like the kid went off!

Yep, around 25 goals on the year now. Not big, but super aggressive in the air and a great nose for the ball.
Their #2 scorer was out, which makes it even more impressive.

Great game by Zupi and by Unioto. Chillicothe was totally outplayed and outworked. On to Logan Thursday and will try to re-group. Will have to make the necessary adjustments for the final third of the season and get it together for for tournament play.
On a side note... Chillicothe forward Dalton Bettendorf left the game just prior to half with a deep cut above his eye. (From an opposing players head) It was incidental contact, nothing dirty. Just two players going hard for the ball. He took 10 stitches....but he is fine and I expect him to be back in action against Logan.

That's good to hear, Dalton's a nice player, glad he won't be missing any time. Unioto's Sean Finley was injured as well, but I don't think his will be as positive of news.
It was a nice, physical match, just how rivals should play.
