In today's Chillicothe Gazette, there was an article announcing Coach Sallade's retirement. He started the soccer program at Zane Trace in 1983. He came to Unioto in 1998 and had great success on and off the field. In 15 seasons, he went 172-71-30 with 8 sectional titles, 2 district titles, and a regional championship in 2004. He led an undefeated regular season in 2002 and just missed a second one this season.
Coach Sallade had many successful players at the college level and was able to help get a lot of kids state wide recognition. He always pushed the importance of quality assistants as well with at least 2 separate district assistant of the year award winners. In his time at the U, he did have 7 All Ohio players and 3 district players of the year. Coach leaves behind. Solid program with a very good JV program that he started and he helped oversee the building of the Unioto soccer complex.
Thank you Coach for 15 great years of soccer and many more lives touched. Enjoy retirement, you've earned it.

One of the classiest gentlemen you would ever meet on or off the field. I wish him well. The SE District will miss him.

I never coached against against Coach Sallade, but did play against the 2004 team and Clifton Brown. They were very, very good along with many other Unioto teams of the past. Well done Coach.
