This is a big game in the SOC. Both of these teams play Minford next week and both need a win to keep pace with the Falcons. Burg probably has a slight speed advantage in this game, but can they take advantage of it? The fast turf helps Burg's speed, but helps Waverly's passing as well. Purpero is probably the biggest scoring threat in the SOC and the Pirates can't lose track of him anywhere on the field. JV game starts at 6:00 and the varsity should kick by 7:30.

It's a long ride from waverly. So there might be some sick boys from the bus ride. So I see waverly starting out flat in the first half and be down at the half, but they will get over that by second half and bounce back with a 3-2 win. Pepero will hat trick his team to a victory.

Minimizing mistakes in the back will go a long way in determining who wins this one. Waverly comes out flat could find themselves behind quick. Finding the back of the net has been hard for the Burg. Who keeps their heads when everyone else is losing theirs will be the winner.

1-1 tie. Both teams played extremely hard. Waverly started the game with a pretty good posession game, but Burg did a nice job getting into the passing lanes and disrupting things. Waverly led 1-0 at the half. Burg tied it up on a nice goal from Butler. Both teams had some opportunities in the 2nd half, but could not connect. I think Burg's sophomore keeper played a fantastic game with several very good saves.

Next week will be a big week in the SOCII with Minford (3-0-0) playing both Waverly (1-1-1) and Burg (1-0-2). Minford could separate themselves from the pack or it could be anybody's trophy to claim by the end of next week.
