Waverly returns many. Key scorer and experienced keeper. Freshmen will then be sophomores.

Waverly will be very young. They should return a senior GK, a junior striker, junior defender, and a sophomore midfielder as starters. The rest of the starters will probably be sophomores and freshmen. I bet at least 4 will be freshmen. There should be 2 other rising juniors who were not starters and generally played behind some of the younger players and 8 other rising sophomores about 4 of which got more than mop up duty varsity playing time last season. However the rising freshmen just completed an undefeated 17-0 8th grade season.

Waverly girls return many as well. Trending in Pike County...

Waverly girls are only losing 1 or 2 starters if I recall correctly. 5 freshmen starters last season with some good 8th graders coming behind them, so they should become even better and be there for a few years.

SW only lost one senior who was an outside mid. They return everything else including their goal scoring duo. I look for the Jeeps to have another great season and tourney run (especially since Gview Hts. lost 12 seniors and Summit is now D2)

Reading the comments about Waverly boys' team, I see a very young team playing. Their experienced keeper may not be in the goal for the Tigers this upcoming season as I heard his family purchased a home in another district. There will be valuable players on the roster but most of their main players graduate this year. Looking forward to another soccer season.

Heard talks of Eastern getting a soccer team this offseason. Can't wait to see what kind of footballers they produce.

The keeper is not going anywhere.

Unioto's girls should be pretty decent as well, as they bring back the bulk of a regional semi finals team.

Just rumors that they're in search of a coach. I don't know whether or not they have found one yet or if they will go through with the program or not. I heard that the only way they will is if they have enough for a JV and Varsity and so far its looking good with 32 already signing a petition.

It is a little late to be hiring a coach and trying to get some games scheduled. Most teams have a full schedule at this point. The idea of JV soccer is great, but there are very few D3 JV soccer games played in SEO and other than South Webster, none of the other SOC1 schools have enough players for JV on a regular basis.
I would like to see Eastern get back into soccer, but they have been there a couple times and it never has held up. I am sure they have some kids that play in Waverly, but they need to try and establish their youth program again if they want to have a sustained high school program.

Need Valley to work on a girls team. Add to the league and they have a good rec program to pull it off.

I heard West has decided on a good young coach and will be announced at their next board meeting.
Nothing more on Eastern....I am thinking it may be another year away if it happens at all. Tough to bring back a program that just went away 6 years ago.

I see they have some games scheduled on Arbiter, so it must be a go for the girls team.
