Chillicothe is D1

Westfall and Sheridan are both D2 also, but neither has won.

And I can’t believe how incredibly unbalanced the sectionals are this year.

Marietta plays Athens tonight. That game will have huge seeding implications

Unioto is 6-3-1 now, with being 5-0-0 against teams from the SE District. We'll see how that affects their seeding, they do play at Athens next Saturday as well.

Fairland's current record is 3-4-2 (W-L-D).

Win - South Point, Chesapeake, Portsmouth
Loss - Ironton St. Joe, Fairland Union, Gallia Academy, Point Pleasant (WV)
Draw - Rock Hill, Gallia Academy

How will they seed these 10 team brackets?

1 plays winner of 8 vs 9 and 2 plays winner of 7 vs 10 and 3 vs 6 and 5 vs 4?

Or does 1 play winner of 9 vs 10 and 2 plays winner of 7 vs 8 and 3 vs 6 and 5 vs 4?

In years past, 7v10 and 8v9 play, but I’m not sure if the second match is set by the winner of the match or the higher seed advancing to play the 2 seed (i.e if 8 and 9 win, then 8 plays 2 and 9 plays 1).

It’s like the NCAA Basketball Tournament.

8v9
7v10

1v8/9 winner
4v5
3v6
2v 7/10 winner

District would be

1/8/9 North vs 4/5 South
2/7/10 South vs 3/6 North

1/8/9 South vs 4/5 North
2/7/10 North vs 3/6 South

With that said, as a Unioto supporter, I want to see them as either the 2 or 4. You would want to avoid Athens and Fairfield Union if possible. You’d prefer the 2, but I’m not sure that they will get any support in that spot, despite being unbeaten against the SE District. They have a proving game on Saturday at Athens though.

While that could certainly be the case, I'm sure it's more that they started too late to join in the MVL schedule this season. Next season they will be officially in the MVL for soccer and that should help them compete. Though, I think it'll be 3-4 more years before they are winning league/sectional games. A lot of potential there being so close to Columbus and I70 if the community will allow some time for growth and buy-in.

I had no idea they weren't playing an MVL schedule, but now seeing thinking about it, it makes sense why they were traveling all over. Honestly, since that's the case, they should have just played a jv schedule.
But im just so happy to see a perry county school playing soccer. Sucks they wont be able to play on the turf, though id still push for lines on it even if the field dimensions have to be smaller... but id be shocked if sheridan ever lets them touch that field.
