Now it’s at 3

Unioto beat Athens 6-0 during the regular season, which is still mind-boggling to me

I know Coach Hanes is adamant on that being in the past and meaning nothing come Saturday afternoon. Unioto needs to tighten a few things up if they want to bring home the Regional title

Yes, lots of thoughts. HOW IN THE HELL does this game get switched from W Muskingum HS (1:15 drive for one team, and 1:30 drive for the other team) to ZT HS???? Let's call it what it is, a HOME GAME for Unioto. 7 miles away, 10 minute drive, while Athens will be traveling over an hour. Absolute BS. And Unioto putting it out to the world on Twitter sure sounds like they were the orchestrator in all of this, thanking ZT for granting their request. Unbelievable that OHSAA let this happen. Completely unfair to the Athens kids and community.

Why is this game being played as a Unioto home game? Seems weird

The request for the time change to allow fans to both go to the State Cross Country Meet and the Soccer game

Part of the reason for the location change was to help out Hiland and Grandview Heights for a more centralized game for them.

However, I really don’t understand picking ZT. Jackson, Waverly, Logan, several others had to be more in the middle (but probably unlikely to be available on short notice)

One reason is a lot of schools don't want to host the soccer. Most soccer crowds don't bring that much money. Zane Trace is hosting a D1 Final 4 match on Wednesday mainly because most schools did not want to host it.

Unioto 2, Athens 1

Athens controlled the first 40 minutes, but trailed 1-0. Unioto only had one shot in the first half, but it was a great goal from Lucas Hanes. Athens had a PK with 10 minutes left in the half, but missed it badly high.

Unioto took control in the 2nd half. Hanes scored with about 23 minutes to play. Athens scored with 3 minutes to play, but didn’t get another shot on goal after that score

Unioto becomes the first SE Ohio soccer team to win 2 Regional Championships.

Yep. If there was a more central location, it would have been picked. The switch was made as a favor to the D3 schools.

Zane Trace does a great job of hosting. Lots of parking and great concessions.

Great facility, indeed. Nice pressbox to call a game, as well. (On that topic: Hey, Ty........where's my money from last year's district games?????? You get a last row seat in the Convo for that, my boy.) ;-)
