WHEELERSBURG -- The 2009 Southern Ohio Conference volleyball preview will be held on Saturday, Aug. 29 at Wheelersburg High School. Admission is $5.

Each contest will consist of two games to 21. The schedule is as follows below. The first team listed in each of the matchups, which are all SOC II schools, will be considered the home team.

• 11 a.m. Wheelersburg vs. Portsmouth Clay

• 11:30 a.m. Waverly vs. Portsmouth Notre Dame

• 12 p.m. Minford vs. New Boston

• 12:30 p.m. Oak Hill vs. F.F. Green

• 1 p.m. Northwest vs. Western

• 1:30 p.m. South Webster vs. Symmes Valley

• 2 p.m. Portsmouth West vs. Sciotoville East

• 2:30 p.m. Lucasville Valley vs. Beaver Eastern

I know the SOC II teams usually come out on top but I'd like to see the matchup between Valley and Eastern. Eastern has everyone back from last year and Valley still has a major power-hitter in Arbaugh. Should be a good one but I'm picking Eastern in this one based on their defense.
