Athens defeated Vinton County 25-13, 25-22, 25-18

Athens also defeated Wellston last Thursday in three games.

Athens is now 3-0 on the TVC Ohio and 6-1 overall after finishing 2nd in the Athens Invitational

The Eagles defeated River Valley at home on Wednesday evening in 3 sets; 25-14, 25-10, 25-15.

South Webster won both the jv and varsity games tonight at Minford. The jv won in 2 games and SW varsity won in 5 games. SW has a very young team and pulled out a close one- 16-14 game 5. Good experience for the young ladies.

The Eagles soar again tonight in a 3 set match. Scores: 25-13, 25-7 and 25-6.

Eagles are looking good this season. They dropped one early to Meigs, but after winning the Athens tourney I think they have gotten their confidence and motivation back. Everyone is glad to see Howie back as coach. Eastern has been putting out some pretty good volleyball players the last couple years. The past two years have seen two great hitters take it to the next level, Swatzel (http://www.rioredstorm.com/article/33.php) and Hayman (http://www.muskingum.edu/home/athletics ... index.html).

Julie Els had 12 kills and Haley Born chipped in with 11.
Kayla Radekin had 3 aces and 33 assists.

The Spartans record now stand at 8-4 overall, and 7-1 in the TVC- Ohio.
