Thoughts: Athens @ Alexander 09/09/10

Haven't heard much about this first matchup of the season on Thursday. Thoughts?

I'm jumping from the topic here but there was none of the Alex/Ny match tonight. Alex whipped us. 25-14, 25-22, 25-22. Alex is well disciplined. Attacked often and covered well. They had two great hammers is Els and Mclaughlin. NY starts 4 sophs and has 6 sophs in their rotation at one time for a period of the match. They are young and talented as most have been thru the Aleta program. We are excited for this group of ladies however, they got schooled tonight. A lot of flat footing on the floor while the ball was in the air. Can't happen Bucks. Good luck to all...

Well worth the price of a ticket! Alexander had a great game plan, executed it to perfection. Most intense first game I've ever seen in volleyball. The team that wanted it more won last night.

Congrats to the Spartans on a big week. Two huge wins over two teams that were contenders for the league title. Finish the week with a big on Saturday heading into a week off.

I want to know who keeps stats for these games. I was there and they are very inaccurate. Looks good in the paper though.
