Ironman 92, I am pleased that the Eagles have an opponent; I fear they will not know how to deal with significant competition.

At 23-0, they have only seen glimpses of volleyball on the other side of the net this year. With the exception of seeding, there is no advantage going into district tournament play having only lost 3 sets on the year. The 2011 EEagles have no experience at having to scrap to win a match this season. My fear is that they have never yet considered their weakness and/or do anything to correct them. Their best hope may be that they are good enough to not have to take a critical look at themselves. This will not be the case, the level of competition, at this point in the season, giant-steps greatly each match.

Congratulations to the team on the TVC (Hocking) and Sectional championship. Last night before the sectional championship, one of the fans boosted that Eastern is the best in the eastern side of the district by pointing out the following. They ripped through the TVC-Hocking undefeated and, within the few non-league openings in the schedule, they were able to handedly beat the undisputed TVC-Ohio and the SEOAL champs.

My hope is that the Eagles are able to evaluate what they can do to enhance their game and achieve a deeper than ever tournament run.

What does anyone know about Whiteoak?

Whiteoak will not be a contested match, provided the Eagles show up ready to play their game. I would be surprised if they score 15 or more in any set.

As always, the matches have to be played to determine a winner.

Whiteoak will start a 3 time all-SHL player in senior Jessie Gilliland and supporting cast includes some good servers, pretty good all-around players and some great kids. Eastern should win by whatever score they choose....but Whiteoak will show up and make their school very proud.

Made a lot of mistakes in the first game, but Whiteoak had some good serving to earn points.
