Re: ALEXANDER VOLLEYBALL
first of all I have not "bashed" either programs as you say.As a matter of fact, I went to alexander and athens is not my volleyball program, I'm simply calling things as I see them.Although I could.I know the girls get along.I know most of them too and i'm not trying to change that, as if I could.

stud, I'm sure it will be competitive. When these two get together it always is. Nelsonville has a very nice squad and with all the youth that they have, you have to be excited about the future of Nelson-ville York volleyball. I think you are beginning to reap the rewards of so many girls getting involved with the club teams. Be sure to get their early tonight. With all the volley for the cure festivities going on, we are expecting a good crowd. Be sure to give me a shout tonight.

Re: ALEXANDER VOLLEYBALL
stud, you should be proud of your lady bucks. They played their hearts out and gave the Spartans all they wanted and then some. They were all over the floor defensively and their setter gave her hitters good looks at swings all night. Hats off to the Buckeyes and best of luck in the tournament. The Spartans have a much needed weekend off. Hopefully some rest will be exactly what the doctor ordered.
Re: ALEXANDER VOLLEYBALL
I was very proud of the Lady Bucks last night as well as the Lady Spartans. Both teams played their hearts out. The Lady Spartans were a little off their game, but I'd like to believe it was because of Nelsonville-York's aggressive play. Alexander has a ton of experience and it showed last night, when they got down 2-1 and didn't panic. The Lady Bucks tightened up a little in the final two sets and their inexperience (6 sophomores on the court a lot last night), was evident. The future looks bright for Nelsonville-York. Good luck to Alexander the rest of the way. Great team with great leadership. I'm looking for a nice run from them in the tournament this year.
Also, I would like to take my hats off to Alexander for the wonderful "Volley for the Cure" event that took place last night. The players, school and community should be very proud of what they accomplished and it looked as if they raised a lot of money for cancer research. Top notch event from a top notch program and school.

The lady Spartans moved up to fifth in the latest state rankings. They will travel to Vinton County Tuesday evening and attempt to lock up another TVC championship. This game will also be a volley for the cure game so eveyone get your pink shirts on and cheer on the Spartans. Good luck ladies!

Congrats to the Lady Spartans. They defeated Vinton County last night to wrap up another TVC championship. They will have a several good tests this weekend as Wheelersburg, South Webster, and Huntington Ross visit for a quad match-up. Should be some very good volleyball. Keep if rolling ladies.

Spartans win the first two matches today, defeating Huntington Ross and South Webster. Last match of the day features Alex -vs- Wheelersburg, should be awesome.
Re: ALEXANDER VOLLEYBALL
From OHSVCA webpage - Wheelersburg lost to Huntington in 3 and beat Alexander in 2 close ones.

Re: ALEXANDER VOLLEYBALL
The Spartans dropped their first match of the year to Wheelersburg. What a gteat day of volleyball. The matches were all close and went down to the wire. This should be very helpful in preparation for the tournament for all teams involved.

The lady Spartans head to Pickerington tomorrow for their last matches before the tournament. They will play Lancaster, Olentangy, and Bloom Carroll. Sounds like pretty good competition. It should be a fun day. Good luck ladies.

The lady Spartans swept all three matches this weekend to finish the regular season at 21-1. Have a good week of practice and gear up for a long tournament

I think Alexander has it this year.. I truly believe it's their year again and I think they are going to refuse to lose... Let's hope they get ANOTHER title this year.
Re: ALEXANDER VOLLEYBALL
I believe they will have a long tournament run, but I don't think they have what it takes to garner another title. My prediction is they make it to the elite 8.

gt13osu, I have to agree with you. I don't think they have the fire power to make it farther this year. I hope they can prove us wrong though.

Lady Spartans win easily. Big ups to Cierra Kirkendall for stepping up and playing through the pain caused by a Friday afternoon car accident. Way to step up SENIOR! Have a good week of practice, mend your wounds and get ready for Thursday.

Julie Els and Kayla Radekin are not going to graduate without going back to state! People have some faith in them they really deserve to go back! They can hang with the best of them and have proven that time after time... They'll go back and they need everyones support

Re: ALEXANDER VOLLEYBALL
I agree that Julie and Kayla are tremendous athletes but what makes them more deserving then 100's of other girls in the state? There is no question they can play with the best of them, but it takes an entire team to be successful at that level. I would love for them to go back to state, it validates the fact that not all of southeastern Ohio volleyball is terrible. Please don't take an observation as a lack of support, it's just an opinion and I hope I'm wrong. It would be great for Alex to make it to state again!
