Will the Spartans go to the state tournament for the 3rd straight year? Or will the Warriors of Adena take the trip to Dayton this year?

Congratulations to both Adena and Alexander for making it to the Regional Finals. Both teams are very impressive. Hopefully Alex brings their A+ game like they did last night so they can return to state.

Best of luck to the lady Warriors! Go play your best and work together as a team and things will work out in the end. I hope to see a great match, with extremely close games. Doesn't matter if 3, 4, or 5 games, as long as they are close. Let Alexander know you are there to battle.

The organizers of this should be shot. The dumbest thing I have heard in years. The match is scheduled for 7:30 Saturday night at the Convo in Athens....right in the middle of the Halloween uptown block party.

Pretty sure they played each other very early in the season and I believe Alex won. Celina is Alex's only loss

This match was originally slated for 2 on Saturday, but there is an OU men's exhibition basketball game during that time, so it got moved back to 7:30.

Adena and Alexander have not played each other this year. Adena's only loss came at the hands of Anna, who finished the season ranked 19th in the state in Division III, and is no longer in the tournament. Anna's record was 18-8.
Alex's only loss was to Division II Celina, who was ranked 17th in the state in Division II at the end of the regular season. Celina's record is now 22-4 and plays Mansfield Madison Comprehensive (25-2) in their regional final match on Saturday.

Actually, it's not in "the middle" of the Halloween Block Party. The Convo is there off Richland Avenue and away from Court Street, which is where the party is held.

If you are from out of town yet know your way around Athens, and are trying to get to the Convo, you shouldn't be near Court Street to begin with. With as many one-way streets that Athens has...That holds true on any day.

The advice for out-of-towners is to come in off Richland Avenue or off 33 or 32 and turn right onto Richland Ave.

Parking isn't so much an issue (on campus) in Athens during Halloween anymore. They only let you park if you have an OU permit. I know this, because I used to have to deal with it, back in the day when they let anyone park on campus during that weekend (what a nightmare that was). I'm sure there will be plenty of people there to direct folks where to park...just stick around the Convo and Peden lots, off of Richland. Other posters are right about how to get there...don't go through town.

I was through town yesterday and there are signs clearly telling you where to park for both basketball and volleyball as you come over the Richland Avenue bridge. As stated by an earlier poster, haloween parking is forbidden on campus.

I guess some just want to bitch about something to make them feel better.

It was just an expression I know the block party is on Court street...
traffic wise it could be... it was bumper to bumper in Nelsonville @ 5:30 today... lined through town clear to route 278 and we don't need a by-pass

any word on how the girls are doing at the CONVO???
