There will be a new club volleyball program starting in Gallipolis. Coach Amy Shriver (Gallia Academy) is in the process of getting it organized asap. Please check back for more details in the next week or so.

She is not coaching, she is only going to be the Director of the program. She has to follow OHSAA rules with coaching certain ages. We have several other people that will be coaching. I believe Sarah Evans Moore, Angie Burns, Megan Barnes, Cndy Simpson and Tiffini Bostic. We are having a meeting on Saturday to get the coaches lined up, so they can get their certification.

I understand your point of view, and that's your experience. I respect that, but we need to get the younger kids in Gallia County involved whether they are going to play at GAHS, RVHS, OVC or SGHS.

isnt therie already a club vb prgram in gallia county? i thought a lot of girls at rv have been playing for a few years now. also read on sg threads that the sg girls were involveld in club vb this pas summer

The one we participated in last year with some rv and sg athletes was at Jackson and was ran by Heather Priddy. I am not sure if she is doing club this year. That program had alot of girls from our area and Lawerence Co.

there are a couple of girls from southern that would be interested. they need to be in club ball that isn't 2 hrs away. athens, gallia, or washington counties would be great.

I thought the guy that referees volleyball started a club program in Gallia, Meigs, & Jackson Counties years ago. He had the Priddy lady as his assistant. Doesn't she have the program now?

She had the program last year. I am not sure if they are still having it this year or not.

This is being offer to all counties. Flyers will be sent out I know to Jackson, Vinton, Meigs and Lawerence counties.

when are the tryouts?

Southern United Volleyball Club will be holding tryouts on December 28th at the Gallipolis Developmental Center Gym. The times are 4pm to 6pm for ages 14u-11u and 6pm to 8pm for ages 18u-15u.
