Congrats also to these young ladies. But the same old story applies to the SEOAL voting for this honor. You "scratch" my back & I'll "scratch" yours!

congrats to Ms. Oates ....SEOAL P.O.Y. .....great young lady ....alot on her plate and does them all to the max
Re: ALL SEOAL VOLLEYBALL TEAM 2011
Agree Wizard, how can she not be on this list unless she wasn't nominated?
Re: ALL SEOAL VOLLEYBALL TEAM 2011
Warren already has three players on the list and although these are honors to recognize the best players in the league or district I think you will find that these awards are generally spread out across the teams involved. The top team may receive 3 spots the second may get 2 third and fourth one each. These are not awards based purely on merit, but to be politically correct and prevent extreme tension between coaches they force the awards across the board. You will not see everyone whom is the most deserving of the award on the list and likewise you will see girls less deserving, but they are all deserving. The system may not be not perfect, but I think it working pretty well. It is still an accomplishment to be proud of and one you can certainly work for, but don't be discouraged if you don't make it, your team has simply filled their allocated spots.Cap'n Scoop wrote:Agree on that one!The Wizard wrote:Suprised not to see Proctor from Warren on the list.

There are no allocated spots. Coaches nominate players and then the other coaches vote, your coach cannot vote for their players.Esully63 wrote:Warren already has three players on the list and although these are honors to recognize the best players in the league or district I think you will find that these awards are generally spread out across the teams involved. I am not suggesting that the other players were not deserving, just save the warriors several times this year and Proctor was more than deserving and I was just suprised that she didn't even make honorable mention, which by the way is each coaches pick.
You are correct in that these are very political. I would rather see as you suggest first place team get x players and the coach picks her players, second place gets x number and their coach picks the players.
