D2
Any scores from D2?
Warren over Meigs in 5. The Lady Warriors season will be over if they come out flat like that again. Meigs played great volleyball the first 2 games but Warren stepped up their game when their backs were against the wall.

Gallia over Waverly in 5 - 25-18, 25-27, 19-25, 25-19, 15-7
Great Game for the Blue Angels and the 6 seniors in their last home game of the season.

Re: D2
7th seed takes out #2 seed Sheridan. Doesn't look like the MVL stacks up in D2 volleyball as well as they do in D2 girls basketball!
The other 7th seed almost takes the other #2 seed, Warren, to 5 games.

Re: D2
Thanks for the info. Not sure why meigs was a 7 seed. Their record was better than the 4, 5 and 6 seeds. 4 and 5 have losing records. They are a good team, just ran out of gas.
Re: D2
I think you are comparing Meigs record to the 4,5,6 seeds in the North. They are in the South where the 4,5,6 seeds have much better records, all above .500.Cap'n Scoop wrote:Thanks for the info. If they are going to have the teams all play at the better seeded school for the first two rounds then the north and south all go to the same location for the district semis and finals, they just as soon seed all 19 teams together. It doesn't save much travel within the north and south as evidenced by the fact that South Point had to make the long 2.5 hr trip to Marietta last night.
Such as:
1 Marietta S
2 Wash CH N
3 Warren S
4 Athens S
5 Gallia S
6 Waverly S
7 Unioto S
8 Meigs S
9 Sheridan N
If it was this way Athens wouldn't have to beat Warren(at Warren), and Gallia wouldn't have to beat Marietta(at Marietta) to win the sectional level and make it to the district semis at a neutral location.

A friend of yours said the Tiger is out of the bag now. I hope the Eagles are soaring Saturday as well.

I'm hoping for a Washington C.H. v.s. Marietta match-up,but up first Warren. Lets go Blue Lions!

Re: D2
Look Warren and Marietta are decent volleyball programs but if by some wierd chance they were to make it to state they would have to play a team like Lake Catholic, Padua or Archbishop Alter who have loads of experience and I dont see these teams having what it takes to beat them.. If they had experience at being at the state tournament much like Alexander does they may have a running chance but I just dont see it happening this year..Best of luck to all teams though!

Re: D2
Look this is a D2 thread and the last time i checked, Alexander was a D3 school, so get over yourself. I doubt anyone posting here doesn't already know the kind of teams they would have to play to advance. I mean, duh?? I thought people were just talking about Districts at this point. Anyone who know volleyball knows you take it one game at a time unless your Alexander that is.

Hey sports_nut: Uhh i play Division One college volleyball so it would be wise not to tell me i dont know about volleyball.. I have been playing my whole life and I am pretty sure i know what it takes. And all i am saying is Warren and Marietta are good for around here but when i saw both play i am hoping it was an off day because it wasnt the most intense games i have ever seen! SO check yourself and dont say i have no clue what im saying. Get over yourself

Re: D2
I am also a Division One college athlete and while experience and size are a great advantage in volleyball, on any given day any one can be beat. Volleyball is a game of momentum and for some teams all it takes is a little push, I have seen it in person. I am not saying those big school are not good because they are thats why they have the reputation that they do, but lets give credit where it is due. These kids have worked hard all season and until they get beat they should receive all the support and encouragement they can get. Good luck to all the teams left in the tourney and a special good luck for the ladies in orange and black
