Waverly High School volleyball team will be hosting two varsity summer tournaments in July. The cost for each is $100.00 and only the first 8 teams will be entered. The dates are July 14 and July 20. Format will be a standard pool play with a single elimination tournament seeded from pool play results. We will have registered officials and a concession stand. What teams will be at each tournament?

Waverly, Chillicothe, Nelsonville York and Peebles in one pool and Unioto, Huntington, Piketon, and Beaver Eastern in the other.

Sounds like a nice group of teams coming in. I could see Waverly, Chilicothe, or NY winning that pool. I think Beaver Eastern should win theirs, but Unioto and Huntington will be very challenging. Also Unioto, Huntington and Piketon will get some good looks at each other before SVC play starts in season.

What time does this start? And is it in the new high school gym?

I missed the tourney, how did it go?

Not sure who won, Chilli had to play 9 games in a row to 25 which spent their legs because a team pulled out and forced pool realignment. That sucked but thats ok cuz it will make us stronger in the long run. Beave Eastern was #1 seed going into tourney round.

From what I've gathered, Eastern won the tournament, Huntington finished runner-up, and Waverly third.

Eastern was for sure the best team. Not sure how anybody rank teams beyond that since the tournament play was all screwed up. Host team played Piketon and had Eastern playing NY early. hmmmmmm..Regardless, the two things I got out of it was that Eastern was by far the best team and NY was by far the most disappointing team.

Waverly opens the regular season on a high note with complete three set sweeps of Piketon and The Burg! Congrats!
