The only thing I know is that it's an invitational. Our Lady Eagles will play starting at 11.

DD told me that she thinks the teams will be; Athens, Warren and Waterford in Pool 1 and Eastern, Marietta and Waverly in Pool 2. If true, the Eagles will have a dog-fight, Coach Kidder will bring a well-coached tactical team and Waverly returns much of the 2011 talent and may be the toughest SOC team.

If that is the lineup, it should be a great day of volleyball.

Checked the OHSVCA website for schedules; Athens, by default, Warren and Waverly are playing in a tournament on 9-1, no schedules posted for Waterford, Marietta or Eastern. From that it looks to me, the only question on participants is Waterford and Marietta.

If tradition holds the first matches will start around 10 AM.

Round 3
Pool 1 Athens takes Waterford in an exciting 3 set match.
Pool 2 Eastern takes Waverly 2-1, another great march.

Warren and Marietta will decide 5th and 6th
Waverly vs Waterford for 3rd
Athens vs Eastern for the champion!

Go Eagles, make 4 of these in a row.

It was the Lady Eagles from the school with a Reedsville address.

They left the Athens Gym today with they're 4th straight Athens Invitational Tournament Championship. Congradulations!! The Tigers from both Marietta and Waverly and then The Lady Bulldogs really made the Eagles scrap for it this year.

Eastern Pike (Beaver)....great at volleyball

Eastern Meigs (Reedsville)....great at volleyball more recently with great athletes

Eastern Brown (Sardinia)....were good a while back but volleyball is very weak on that end of the SE District.

Eastern Pike in Beaver has won or shared 12 straight SOC Division I Titles, 20 straight Sectional Titles, 4 Straight District Championships, and lost in the Regional Finals the past 3 years.

Eastern Meigs went on to State just last year of course.

These two programs are always steady at a good level.
