Coming out of the North??....the White Walkers of course! Opps, wrong thread.

Based on my predicting skills there is only one team that could be a threat to Athens or Unioto. And that team would be....wait for it.... FAiRFIELD UNION from the city up North (Lancsaster).

The usual suspects are down this year: (Sheridan and Wash CH) and the second best team in the group is a team that is upcoming but definitely not this year and that would be Circleville. And a good measure of where they are, will be this Thursday when the play FU at home. Court House could make a case for the 2 spot but FU is the best the North has to offer.

While I agree that the winner of Athens / Unioto will represent SE Ohio in the Regionals ... AND that Fairfield Union and Circleville have the best chance to play that winner in the district final ... I also think the District final will not be easy for Athens nor Unioto. Both FU and Roundtown play well. 4 game match is very likely ... with an outside chance at a 5 game thriller.

Jackson might be 90th by record and will finish 4th out of 5 teams in the SEOAL. But I know they only go by record on the seeding process as evident by last years seed. Gallia and Warren very well might sweep Jackson, but both might be seeded lower due to overall record. The top six or seven are probably pretty close on this list. Unioto and Athens are by far the class of the field. But never count out FU as they seem to always find a way to peak at tourney time.

I'm not going to put a lot of stock in MaxPreps rankings... let's see, FU beat Logan Elm in three and I think Circleville beat Logan Elm in 5, but LE is ranked ahead of both. Also Chilli beat Hillsboro in 5 although their ranking are pretty close according to MaxPreps. And those are just off the top of my head. I'm sure if I took a deeper dive at who has played who and won I would find more questionable ranks of teams. Not sure what algorithm MaxPreps uses for ranking teams but it must be the same one the Coaches Poll in college football uses.

Still too early for MaxPreps ... They need results. Teams are halfway through their season. By mid October MaxPreps does a better job.

Agreed i don't put any stock in Maxpreps rating right now. They are nationwide and have no regional or district feel for an accurate ranking. Number systems don,t always configure alot of variables that well schooled, fair, coaches see when they are given the opportunity to rank. In the end it will be the " U " or Bulldoggies coming out as the other side is too weak but i will give FU a nod as they seem to play well in sectional round the last few years. Sheridan always comes in and nobody knows or has seen them play and they are a upset threat if they get hot. As always Go Cavs!

Any big wins or losses that could shake up the
Results from last week?

Unioto had two big wins this week
Over Westfall and Adena.

Warren beat Marietta (H) and Logan(A) this week, not sure how much that helps them. I think they could be a 5 - 7 on the loaded south part of the district. Looks to me like Warrren, chilli, and zane are close to equal.

Didn't get any votes this week,
I guess the coaches will take care of that for us today.
Any predictions?

Unioto and Athens should be 1 and 2 in the south.

The north could go a few different ways,
In the end I think it will be Cirleville and Fairfield Union with the top two spots.

From our last poll it would not surprise me to see Warren seated higher than we had them.
