To all involved-West you played your hearts out and won the fisrt two sets in impressive fashion. Minford you girls never gave up after losing the first two sets and being behind in the third. Most teams would have given in and just folded the tent, but you all never gave up. Congrats to you Minford on winning and good luck in the Districts. To the West players hopefully you learned a lot yesterday and put this game in the back of your brain-never forget it. You have many talented players that are coming back next year from this years varsity team, including 3 freshman, 4 juniors and a sophomore who didn't get to play a single set. If you all want it bad enough and work over the summer this team will make noise in both the SOC and in the tournament. To the coaches-the players on both teams need you all to be their leaders and coaches-You all need to challenge these girls a little more, get on them when they need it and pick them up when they need that. It is okay to show some fire and emotion-players usually take the attitude of the coach!
To the fans-great atmosphere of cheering both teams on throughout this well played, hard fought battle. Great sportsmanship by both.
To the officials-Mark Rose, Scott Jenkins, Dan Smith and Leroy Wells-great job by you guys. We all who officiate know there will be calls missed, in that being said there were only about 3-4 calls yesterday that might have been missed-Great job guys!!!
