What is the climate in the SCOL ( South Central Ohio League ) and who is favorite to win the league? We take our volleyball pretty seriously here in Ross County with Chillicothe and all the SVC schools. We know Wilmington joins the league in 2014 and that Washington Court House has been good always as we play them annually. Any thoughts on Miami trace, Hillsboro, Greenfield, East Clinton and Clinton Massie?

WCH is young this season, but always a perennial powerhouse in the SCOL. CHS could be competitive this fall, but WCH would be my guess at favorite.

Chillicothe with a sweep @ Hillsboro with 7th, 8th, jv, and varsity all winning. Go Cavs, great start in our new league. Freshman also won against Jackson tonight.

Wash CH wins at home over Miami Trace 3-1. In a possible match up of the top 2 teams in the SCOL, WCH controlled the match. In typical Court House fashion they served tough, passed well, and ran a quick offense. Trace played well at times and they have some very, very good players but just not enough depth to keep up with the Blue Lions.
With wins over Adena and Shekinah Christian, WCH belongs in that top tier of Div II teams in the District along with Zane Trace, Athens, and Unioto.

Chillicothe sweeps East Clinton at all levels on their floors ( 7th -varsity ) go Cavs! Long weekend off then SCOL favorite and always tuff Washington C.H. comes to town for our first home match next Thursday. WCH and MT also win tonight as Hillsboro and Greenfield fall. So Chillicothe & Washington are both 2-0 in the league. MT 1-1, Hillsboro 0-2 and not sure about E Clinton, Greenfield and Clinton Massie, just know EC and Gfield both had a loss tonight.

Chillicothe wins at all levels vs Washington Court House @ home except the varsity and they drop in 3 sets to a very good WCH team that is now 7-0 and takes the lead in the hunt for the SCOL title. 7th and 8th grade are both 4-1 and 3-0 in league. Freshman are 4-1 not sure of JV record and varsity stands @ 2-3 with a close trip to the Unioto invitational this Saturday and play their cross town rivals at 11:00 in the main gym. Go Cavs!

Washington Court House has separated themselves and to me are the clear favorite to take the league title. Chillicothe and Miami Trace will battle it out for second place as Chilli must beat them at home. 5 set thriller at Trace this past week in a hotbox of a gym, reminded me of Warrens gym. Greenfield looks improved and could pull an upset to mix it up and then E Clinton, Clinton-Massie ( who i have not seen yet ) and Hillsboro round out the lower half.

Maybe it's because Washington Court House has won the league in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and most likely 2013. Lack of success (for the other schools) breeds apathy!

Boo if you were still in the SEOAL we would be having some good conversations. I am having the same issue on the SEOAL thread. Oh well I will keep typing anyway, looks like people are at least reading it!!
. Do you think Chillicothe will be ranked higher than all the SEOAL teams in the South division come tourney time??

I miss the SEOAL, and really wish it would have worked out. We had some great matches against all the members and good, spirited crowds at Warren, Marietta, Gallia, Jackson and Logan. Never felt like volleyball was backed by fans or school at Ironton, Zanesville or Portsmouth. Athens never stayed long enuff for us to get much going although we have played them 3 times in the last 5 years. The drives were just too much. We have 3 1/2 hour drives now with WCH, MT, and Greenfield and an hour to E Clinton, Hillsboro, Clinton-Massie and Wilmington next year. Cavs need some wins too help move up in the draw and should get some in next two weeks. Still have All-league, all-district stud middle in Kate Martin and cast around her is growing up fast so hopefully they will be ready come mid-October.

Washington CH rolls on and congrats to Coach Buyer and Zach as they have program in high gear. Chillcothe sweeps East Clinton at all levels tonight. The Miami Trace match looks like it will be for 2nd place in league barring any hiccups by WCH, MT or Chilli and its at Chillicothe so we need to amp up for that match. Chillicothe 7th and 8th are undefeated at 8-0 in SCOL with 4 games remaining. Go Cavs!

Congrats to Coach Buyer on SCOL title and Washington Court House team. It is never easy to win a title and much less go undefeated which looks like they will. Our Cavs 7th and 8th are still undefeated in league at 9-0 with a fun, spirited night @ WCH last nite. That gym was rocking for both 7th and 8th but especially the 8th as it went 3 and set 3 was a 26-24 win by Cavs. Looks like a rivalry is getting more intense now we are in the league. Fun times and great games. Go Cavs!
