2015 SEOAL VOLLEYBALL

Well this looks like it will be the last year for the SEOAL volleyball and it should be a good year. Even with 4 teams, they should have some very competitive games ahead.

2015 Prediction

1. Gallia - With returning the majority of their team from last years co-champion team, Gallia has to be the favorite. They have great defense, three powerful hitters that all return and a little chip on their shoulder from not being the outright champs last year.

2. Warren - Warren is returning 3 starters but lost a lot of seniors that produced most of the scoring. They do have a good nucleus returning and will be very competitive. Warren needs to play great defense to contend this year.

2. Logan - Logan is starting out with another new coach and they too lost several seniors from their roster. They do have some powerful hitters returning that will keep them in all their games. Defense will be the key for Logan to contend for the title.

4. Jackson - Jackson returns one of the better setters in the league, but lost their key outside hitter to graduation. Jackson could surprise people this year and compete if they can get the younger talent up to speed. Coach Martin will have this team ready to play every night as usual.

Warren, Logan, and Jackson will be very even this year and the big question is can someone knock Gallia off the top spot to claim what might be the last SEOAL volleyball championship.

Logan defeated Jackson in 4 sets (25-19, 20-25, 26-24, 25-22). I believe this was their first match of the season as well!

I saw on Twitter that Logan was 1-6 and Jackson was I think 5-1 beforehand

Gallia got by Warren in 4 sets. It was actually the 1st set Gallia has dropped all year. They are very strong.

Week 2 of league play is in the books for the SEOAL. Still Gallia is leading the way and is just getting tougher.

Gallia handled Logan in three and Warren defeated Jackson in a 5 set, back and forth thriller in Jackson. Next week Logan and Warren play at Warren and
Gallia travels to Jackson.

Gallia controls its own destiny and Warren, Jackson, and Logan are a toss up on the next three positions.

Week 3 of league play is now in for the SEOAL. Gallia controls it own destiny with 2 of their final three SEOAL games at home. On top of that, it looks like Gallia has a legitimate chance of going undefeated for the regular season if it can get passed Warren at home and Logan on the road. I do not see anyone in the OVC challenging them either unless it would be at South Point. Places two thru four are up in the air as Logan, Warren and Jackson are three even teams.

Last Week:
Gallia handled Jackson in three and Warren defeated Logan in a normal 5 set match that these two schools have been known for the past three or four years.

This week Gallia and Warren play at Gallia and Logan travels to Jackson.

Week 4 of league play is now in for the SEOAL. Gallia has locked up a share of the title. 2nd thru fourth is up in the air.

Gallia handled Warren in four and Jackson defeated Logan in 3 sets.

Next week Gallia and Logan play at Gallia and Jackson travels to Warren.

Week 5 of league play is now in for the SEOAL. Gallia has locked up the title but not they way the wanted to or had in mind.

This Week:
Jackson knocked off Warren in four sets at Warren. Was not the prettiest game to watch as a Warren fan, as it was a referee dominated game and Jackson had fewer errors called on them. Jackson came ready to play and hats off to them for that.

And the shocker of the evening was Logan beating Gallia at Logan to knock off the #13 team in the state and knock them out of the undefeated ranks. What a huge win for the Lady Chiefs program as they pulled off an epic game when they needed it.

With the Warren loss, Gallia locked up the outright championship and the rest are tied at 2-3.

Next week Gallia and Jackson play at Gallia and Warren travels to Logan.
