That's great. It sounds like there will be enough for a JV squad.

very cool... Federal Hocking has one of the most successful baseball teams each year in SE Ohio...a JV team is only going to make them better

Fed looked good in there scrimmage last night, varsity players were solid in the field and at the plate.
Burke, Sharp, Thompson, and Smith looked very strong pitching. The JV looked good but a little nervous.
Over all I think it could be a good year for Fed, but they have a hard schedule.
Williamstown as always has a nice team, and should be hard to beat. They have a couple really nice players.
There center fielder and the catcher had cannons for arms.
Good luck to both teams.
Go Lancers

I need to get ahold of the Lancer head baseball coach ... I tried the school, can't get ahold of the athletic director ... anyone know how I can reach the coach? Is Bunty still the man in charge? If anyone could e-mail my personal page on this web site with that info would be awesome ... thx!

Yes Mr. Brunty is stil the head baseball coach at federal hocking. They are on spring break this week, that might be why you can't get ahold of the AD. Give me your ph# and I will make sure he gets it.

Fed 17
Waterford 1

Fed played well.
Waterford is down some this year, but I think they are young.

The Marietta/Lake Catholic games at Marietta have been changed to a double-header at Federal Hocking with Marietta around 1:00 pm maybe a little after.

Game 1

Marietta 3
FH 1

Both teams threw Top 3 pitchers, and apparently it was a defensive struggle. FH better wake up the bats, as this was the weakness I felt they would have this season. One or two hits is pathetic against any high school pitcher that isn't going to have his school or life paid for in the future.

As I'm told, both teams will stay in the top end of their rotations for Game 2 as well.

Game 2

Marietta 5
FH 2

It sounds like Marietta's centerfielder made a very nice play on a ball when FH had the bases loaded. Big time play if so. Good luck to Marietta the rest of the way.

FH saw some decent pitching today and did not respond well to it. They need to get focused and figure out how to hit a baseball. They have the pitching to win the TVC Hocking again, but 1 or 2 runs of offense won't get it done.

Aluminum bats fellas, aluminum bats.

Are the Lancers still playing their game Vs Trimble today?

It rained a lot last night; but its been pretty dry today ... But cold ... Not sure how Fed Hock's field drains, is it capable of holding a game today?

I talked to an assistant coach and he was at the field at 4pm and they were still planning on having the game.

However, this info is probably a bit late.

For future reference, FH seems to play most of their home games unless it is raining during the game.

Fed Hock 3
Trimble 2

(Lancers win in the bottom of the 7th - scored tied 2-2 - Fed Hock loaded the bases, Burke hit a ball to short, but the SS threw the ball in the dirt at home and the runner scored.)

93bulldog, you should pm Ruban9, and see if he can keep you up-to-date about the on or off status of the FH games, as he should typically know. That way you have a good source and won't have to guess. Hope this is helpful for you.
