Waverly (10-1) vs Wheelersburg (12-0) 4-22-09

Big SOC 2 matchup for Wheelersburg and Waverly tomorrow night. Winner will take sole possession of 1st place atop the SOC. Both are undefeated coming into this contest.

Both games last season were close 1st 7-6 at Burg and 2nd 3-1 at Waverly. This season again puts 2 of the top pitchers in the area against each other.

Waverly returns alot of talent from last years squad in Teeters, Martin, Roback and Robertson. No doubt Robertson will be on the hill for Waverly in this one.

Wheelersburg returns 2 on the top hitters in the area in Hopper and White and a host of Pirates swinging the bats well. Elliott will be on the mound for Burg and has pitched very well early. Defense is playing solid.

IMO I look for this one to be low scoring. Could come down to timely hitting and small ball being the difference in this one.

According to www.weather.com, the rain is going to hold off until right about 5pm. Might get the field ready, but I wouldn't bet on this game getting played just yet.

Have no clue as I have not seen the field. At this point I would say the game is on unless we get more rain.

The way the weather has been it may come down to who can swim the fastest around the bases. In that case I would have to go with Wheelersburg. They have a pretty good swimmer on the baseball team.

I don't know what color they will start off but, by the end of the evening, both teams will have a lot of mud brown on their pants.

Robertson on the hill for the Tigers and Burg countering with Elliott. This is gonna come down to who makes the fewest mistakes, look for this one to be decided by 1-2 runs.

Waverly can't let White and Hopper beat them at the plate like they did Wamsley and Cook last year, they do this and I like our chances.

Lookin for a big night out of Robertson on the hill, as he has been dominant to this point.

He is dominant, but hasn't faced the Burg yet either. The Pirate bats have been dominate as well. No, maybe they have not faced somebody like Robertson either, but this offense is explosive.

I can't really remember the last time Wheelersburg was the underdog going into a game. Should be a great one.
