Wellston vs Fairland Disrict Final

What does everyone think?Game is at 1pm saturday at Unioto High School!Who are the guys to watch for Wellston?Apparently they have some good bats,17 runs againist Westfall yesterday!

Looks like both will be without their leadoff hitters. Wellston's ejected, Fairland's broken wrist. Both all district selections and big parts of their teams. Fairland with a lot of seniors should be able to fill Jordan's spot with experience. Wellston will have to shuffle a bit. Wellston seems to have a big strike offense so the pressure will be on the pitching and defense of Fairland. Good luck to both teams. Either will represent the district well.

Losing Nut will hurt more than ya think, but your right they have a lot of leadership on that club and should be able to move on from his loss ... But has anyone else hit leadoff for this club all year long? I know Nut has been leadoff every game ive seen Fairland play for 3 years now.

Wellston was solid 2 years ago when they lost to SP in sectional finals. If any of those guys were sophomores then I clearly understand why they are a solid ball club this year. Wellston was well coached 2 years ago if its the same guy.

But good luck to the Dragons represent the OVC well.

Fairland scored two in the third, three in the fourth and five in the fifth.

Nate Burcham held Wellston to only four baserunners and struck out 11.

Congrats to Fairland on the district title and a fine season and district runner-up for Wellston and its three seniors — Tyler King, Slone Cales and Matt Lockard.
