A promise made kept me from this one but I wanted to be there.
Much respect once again goes out to the Southern fans and their team.

Re: RACINE SOUTHERN VS. NERK CATHOLIC (AGAIN & AGAIN & AGAIN)
After struggling through the regular season with a losing record, the Green Wave looked at the tournament as a chance to redeem themselves.
Using its struggles as motivation, NC continued its improbable tournament run Friday with a 7-4 victory against Racine Southern in a Division IV regional final at Beavers Field in Lancaster.

I DON'T THINK IT IS VERY CLASSY TO MAKE FUN OF ANOTHER TEAM. AT LEAST THE CATS DON'T PUT DOWN THE OTHER PLAYERS WHILE IN THE GAME LIKE NC DID. I SEE NOW WHERE THET GET IT FROM! GOOD LUCK SOUTHERN!!!!
It's just a figure of speech and If you're old enough to remember (which you're probably not), newspaper sports writers, local radio personalities and the like used to refer to a lot of junior varsity teams with names such as "tomkittens, bullpups, blue imps, ironboys etc. but I guess it's not politically correct in today's society but Trimble did play like a j.v. team that night. Maybe you could IM Jottings or Sportfolio and they can fill you in on some more names that were used back in the day (they are two of the many old school guys who worked in the print media).

I can remember listening to WHTH in Heath read off the area high school football scores when I was a kid and they often referred to Berne Union as Burnt Onion. I never recall anyone calling in and complaining about it.

FIRST OF ALL, I MAY BE OLDER THAN THE TWO OF YOU TOGETHER. I PERSONALLY FELT IT WAS A SLUR BECAUSE I KNOW HOW HARD THOSE BOYS WORKED, AND ONLY HAD 10 PLAYERS SUITED AND SOMETIMES ONLY NINE. THEY WERE VERY PROUD OF THIS SEASON AND DIDN'T NEED TO BE MADE FUN OF THAT WAY.

222, No slur was intended and I'm sorry if I offended you. Trimble does great in the TVC but once you get outside the league, everything has to come together at tournament time or you have games like this. The nicknames in my last post above are real, check them out sometime.
