Adena Baseball 2013
Re: Adena Baseball 2013
Who is running the Adena Fall workouts? I would assume that person would be the favorite to be the head coach.

I know Ronnie Free is doing fall workouts with boys from ages grade school through high school. I have known Ronnie for years and if he gets the job it wont be because of family it will be because he is a great coach, knows the game of baseball and most important he knows how to teach it. My son has played for him so I know firsthand. Great guy with great values. He plays to win but he is also fair and cares about all the players. In my opinion, he is the ONLY logical choice.

I'll take a guess that Coach Thomas will be coaching every spring sport at Adena this year.

White has no chance at the Adena job.Â
His role in the RWF Dominance of the hog tournament at the Great Ross County FairÂ
Has red arsed too many of the power players in the Frankfort Fold.
And with Adena names like Free and Thomas in the mix I just don't see a Unioto alum getting a Fair look...............Â

The fair is a joke . White's resume speaks for itself . Thomas isn't in the running .

Capable YES
Deserving YES
Does he bleed Purple-N-Gold YES!
RWF is no Joke my friend,Â

I'm all for seeing an Adena alum leading the Warriors this year...someone who has been a Warrior and knows the pride in Warrior baseball deserves to be at the helm...not someone from the U or Piketon...
White is way too young - he may be ready for a head coach position in a few years, but not now...supporting role would be better

There are numerous not so qualified head high school coaches all over the world but Corey played college baseball and is very knowledgeable about the game. He would make a fine choice for Adena.I do not know the other candidates so they might be qualified as well.

What does it have to do with where you went to school? People need to get over that. I would want a good baseball guy to lead my program. A guy who is willing to put forth numerous hours to make sure kids are getting the exposure they deserve. Someone who has contacts at the next level to get kids there. Corey White has the ability, but I think people are right, he isn't going to get a fair shot at the job because he isn't from Adena. They are missing out on a great coach.

Re: Adena Baseball 2013
4 years of college baseball to go along with 2 seasons of coaching at a school who reached the Regionals both seasons, to go along with having a great passion for the game and even more knowledge should be enough to get a job, IMO.
Just because you coach for years, doesn't make you more qualified than someone who has only done it for a few. I'm sure the other candidates for the job will be well qualified as well, I just don't think age should be a factor.
BTW, Tony Taylor, Trevor Thomas, and Ron Allen have all done decent at schools that aren't their alma mater, so that actually matters much less than age. If you can coach, you can coach.

Still hoping Free gets the job - not cause he's an Adena graduate, more cause he knows the game and IS the person who will go way above and beyond - both for the program and all the kids involved. He's already put in way more time than needed or expected, without even having the job. He has a great coaching record as well. Coaches very much like Yates...so if they want to continue that type of program, that's the way to go.

I'm sure Wheelersburg really regrets the fact that Michael Estep went to Portsmouth.

Bingo ! He's not too young either . He was a assistant to Bumgardner last year which helps even more .oldschoolwebgem wrote:There are numerous not so qualified head high school coaches all over the world but Corey played college baseball and is very knowledgeable about the game.
