Shawnee State University Fall Prospect Camp

Post by futbolisweird »

Shawnee State University is hopding its 8th annual Fall prospect camp at Branch Rickey Stadium in Portsmouth, OH on Saturday October 11th. All relevant information and registration can be found at shawneestatebaseballcamps.com but the most important things to know are the cost of the camp is $80 and we will be inviting other Division I schools from the region to attend. Registration begins at 9am and the camp begins at 10am.

We understand there are a number of showcases you can attend so we try to disitnguish ourselves as best we can. Our camp is run directly by the SSU coaching staff. The purpose of this is to give the best possible opportunity to show what baseball skills each player has and whether they would be a good fit for us. Additionally, having our coaches run the camp allows players and parents to see exactly how we go about our business day to day, which is important when evaluating schools. We also distiguish ourselves by signing players out of our camps. We do not have a JV team, so players are not just numbers to us. We are actively looking for players that can help us out and we do just that every single year. Currently, we have 32 players on our roster and 10 of those players have attended camp in the past. We also have one of our committed players for next year who is a past camp attendee.

As always, if you have any questions, please let us know at [email protected] or (740) 821-4351.

Thanks and I look forward to seeing you soon.

I just wanted to thank everyone for coming out to our Fall Prospect Camp. We had a good showing from southern Ohio and eastern Kentucky with players from Portsmouth, Wheelersburg, Lucasville, Chillicothe, Racine, Lewis County, and four players from Raceland. Thank you to all the local players who came out to see our campus. I appreciate your effort.
