I don't know ...

But after seeing Athens own a 4-0 lead over them - in the 7th - with 2 outs and 2 strikes on the batter ... kinda has me sick to the stomach right now ...

When you combine the game of baseball and add to the recipe 15-18 year old kids, you never can predict an outcome on any given day. Basketball and football are more predictable, baseball not so much. How many times have we seen pitching performances and the one guy on the hill with a great outing and dominating the other 9 guys or hitting balls hard right at the defense and making outs versus bloops to where they "ain't" and scoring runs. Makes predicting this game of baseball more art than science.

Warren had a very respectable season do not get me wrong, and are always solid with athletes, but it was a tad surprising IMO. I am glad the SEOAL has represented and wish the Warriors the best, but on the other hand after beating them twice in league play (pretty solidly at Vincent) I can't help but do the woulda, coulda, shoulda scenario in my head lol. I know I know if frogs had wings they wouldn't but their arse.

But I am over it...lol...go represent the SEOAL and good luck to all the Warren seniors especially for continuing your season.

I have watched this team 4 or 5 games this year. I would say that it is surprising to be in the regionals, but sometimes it is just the right matchup at the right time. Warren has just been a hitting machine the last two games (clutch hits). If anything the Athens win was a surprise as most teams would have packed it up and been headed toward the bus with 2 outs in the 7th. But after that win, it is like we have a whole new outlook. It is amazing what confidence can do to teenagers!! Maybe two boys teams can make State runs in one year. You never know. GO BIG BLUE!!!

The Warren team was plagued mid-season with dry bats and errors. Following the win over Gallia the team seems to have come to life and are showing others what they are capable of. Just because there isn't a lot of hype around these guys doesn't mean they haven't worked hard to be where they are. All of the "shoulda, coulda, woulda's" nor losses along the way can diminish their accompishments at this point in the season. They have done what a team is supposed to do...mature and improve. They are a talented group of young men. While the Athens 7th inning come back was a rare thing to happen, these kids never stopped fighting and it paid off. Baseball is unpredictable and any given day, especially youth teams, any team can beat an opponent. The ones who quietly fight on are to be admired. These kids have also represented their school with class, win or lose. Here's to wishing them a Final 4 slot, but even if the road stops at regionals, they earned every step that it's taken to get that far and deserve our respect. I'm sure the team appreciates the support from their SEOAL family.

It is what it is. Warren sports overall this year have been turning in outstanding showings when they need them. Boys and Girls. Just one of those things. Great for our kids. Sucks for everybody else. Their are many quality kids playing in this part of the state right now. Seems like the Warren kids get hot at the right time. I believe overall the the best school in the area is Athens for the next two to three years, many quality kids right. Gonna be hard for everybody else to keep up with the Bulldogs. Just not this year.
