Long time Fort Frye Baseball Coach "Sonny" Bidwell passed away this morning while on the Fort's track in Beverly.

Sonny was in my parents wedding back in 1983, and it was a pleasure to get to know him as we scrimmaged him every year. Prayers sent to his family and the Fort Frye community.

Per todays Marietta times, Coach Bidwell had 350 wins in twenty one seasons as the head coach of the Cadets Baseball program.
His Cadets also won back to back OVAC titles in 2017-2018.

Very sad to hear of Sonny’s passing. I coached with Sonny in 1983 football season and 1984 baseball season at Southwestern. He was also in my wedding in 1984. We grew apart sadly as or jobs took us in different directions.
