Can someone with knowledge on the Logan program please explain how they can be the only Division 1 program (consistently at least) in the SE district and be so bad. It’s hard to understand how they can get beat that bad by anyone. I don’t even think South Gallia was getting beat that bad in their winless season(s) when playing regional level teams like Waterford/Eastern Meigs 2X per year.

No one in Logan cares about baseball. They have a long culture of boys being told by Dale they can not play baseball. Hard to get rid of that old school thought process in Hocking countybunt pirate wrote: ↑Sat Apr 03, 2021 8:18 pm Can someone with knowledge on the Logan program please explain how they can be the only Division 1 program (consistently at least) in the SE district and be so bad. Probably not. I don’t care much to sit through baseball games.PirateFan[69] wrote: ↑Sat Apr 03, 2021 1:21 pmWill Swanker make an appearance at the Burg Webster game?

Re: 4/2/21 Scores
I think this is overstating Logan's baseball woes, so to speak. While it's true that Logan hasn't had great teams in recent memory, they've usually been respectable. This year is obviously a bit rough. Being D1 in baseball doesn't directly translate into being "good at baseball." Look at the D1 competition in the Columbus suburbs and even the exurbs like Lancaster: there are really high participation rates within the individual classes between school and summer-ball at virtually all of the schools in the competition. When it comes to baseball, Logan is really more on-par most years with the nearby D2's -- middle-of-the-pack caliber at best.bunt pirate wrote: ↑Sat Apr 03, 2021 8:18 pm Can someone with knowledge on the Logan program please explain how they can be the only Division 1 program (consistently at least) in the SE district and be so bad. The South Gallia comparison really doesn't hold any water, IMO. The top of the TVC-Hocking probably doesn't want to play South Gallia in baseball anymore than SG does -- both teams in those games likely operate on good understandings that if the game gets out-of-reach early (as expected) then the winning team will do what they can to create outs in both frames of the inning. No one is forced to play Logan, on the other hand.
