VA Memorial Field Upgrades

Post by cavsfuhball »

I've seen an article and several pictures now of the VA stadium and its upgrades. They are resurfacing the entire field with new turf (light and dark striped in the outfield) and redoing the entire outfield wall. With such a fantastic atmosphere for baseball, especially high school athletes, I'm very excited for catching games out there this season.

Link to the article/pictures? I hope it turns out well. That place was showing it's age. Glad they are addressing it.

Here's one of the articles. (They all basically say the same thing, about receiving some funding from the state level).

As of Sunday, the whole field and mound were done. Only the wall/fence was not done.

Thankfully the below the surface situation was in very good shape, so it wasn’t nearly as expensive as it could have been.

Looks awesome!!!! That's great to see them putting money into it to keep it going, it definitely needed to be done. It's my favorite place in SEO to watch high school baseball games. Hopefully with the upgrade they'll fix the annoying buzzing sound that's coming from a light or the PA or whatever it is, it's been doing it for at least 3-4 years. Lol.

Great place to watch a game. Nice to see the upgrades being made. Would like to see them upgrade the scoreboard down the road too.

It looks like they have not posted the full schedule for the FNB Classic. Or at least I can't find it... Here are some of Chillicothe's games at the VA:

Fri, 3/21 vs. Oak Hill (Scrimmage)
Fri, 3/28 vs. Dublin Jerome (season opener)
Wed 4/2 vs. Gallia Academy (FNB Classic)
