Ashton Packard hit a homerun the first pitch the bottom of the first inning to start a 3 run 1st inning on the way to the win. John Logue pitched well in relief of Mike Waderker getting the win.

Eastern's baseball staff is top notch, but the AD needs to reconsider her hiring practices when it comes to umpires. It was awful tonight, and there were laughable calls both ways.

Seems to me that you're just making stuff up now. I haven't seen complaining over an umpire this season, and only remember two instances from last year, one of which happened at Fed Hock.

Just in case you didn't notice, I said "both ways" in my post. I'm assuming you weren't able to take that in completely. That means that Eastern took the bad end on a few as well.

The field umpire is completely incompetent, has a son in the Eastern school system (which he made awful calls both ways..so no big deal), he yelled at the crowd multiple times during the game, and three times tonight he called safe and then changed to the out call.

Is screaming at fans and parents professional behavior? Answer that question.

"It can get a lot worse!"
"How can you see it way over there? I'm right next to it!"
"Yeah, well I'll through you out buddie!"
"Shut up over there!"

Then he spent his time inbetween innings chatting with Eastern people in lawn chairs. I know for a fact that he was whining about FH's fans, and was trying to justify his calls to his people.

He umpired behind the plate at Eastern when I was a catcher at FH years ago. He yelled at the crowd that day also. He said to me, "I'm not that bad am I?" LOL LOL LOL -First class all the way.

It was obvious from the Eastern staff that they were not pleased with the umpiring tonight either.

Southern won last night over Trimble by the score of 10-0 in 5 innings.
Southern is now 1-0 in league play with one game pending with Federal Hocking.

Vinton County over Trimble tonight. Believe final score was
12-9. This puts VC at 3-1 overall, 1-1 in TVC after defeating Piketon last Monday 9-7 and River Valley 14-10 Wednesday in a game called after 6 innings due to darkness.

Southern won over Beaver Eastern last night 20-10


Kreig Kleski picked up the win for Southern, theyre still 1-0 in the league with a pending game vs Fed Hock. They improve to 3-1

MWard, the VC/Trimble score was 11-6 and yes VC is 3-1, however they are still 0-1 in the TVC. The Trimble win does not count for our TVC record because Trimble is a member of the TVC-Hocking, we are a member of the TVC-Ohio. I hope this helps.

Meigs over Vinton Co. tonight 5-1. It was tied 1-1 until the top of the 5th when the Marauder bats started coming to life. Nice job Meigs. The Marauders are now 3-0 in the Ohio TVC.
