To my knowledge, Gallia Academy has never won a district baseball title unless it was back in the late 20s or early 30s when records were incomplete.

The Blue Devils beat Portsmouth and Jackson and in 1950 at the old OU stadium in Athens, but lost to Ironton n the sectional finals when Tiger ace John Shelton stopped them.

Dick Shrider was the GAHS coach. The late Gene Wetherholt pitched for GAHS.

No score yet, but I'll post it when I find out. Must be in a rain delay or something. But you never know with that first game.

I do know that Circleville beat Marietta 2-1 in the first game. So the winner gets the Tigers.

The Devils Built a 6-2 lead tonight but were unable to hold it and CH went up 10-6. GA battled back and got to 10-9 with runners on 2nd and 3rd with two outs in the bottom of the seventh and grounded out to end it.
