Re: POST 23 Game updates
Post 23 came away with a 7-5 victory last night in Fairborn,OH. The game took 11 innings to decide but the boys in blue came out in the top of the 7th to tie the game 4-4. 23 was down 4-1 going into the 7th.
Justin 'Montie' Montgomery started the game for 23 but left in the bottom of the third with a sore elbow and down 2-0. Caleb Leach came into the game and kept the Fairborn squad off balance most of the night other than a 2 run HR by the mammoth lefty hurler from Fairborn.
Jared Farmer, with 2 out in the top of the 11th hit a double to drive in 3 runs and give Post 23 some much needed insurance. Fairborn managed 2 runs in the 11th to make the final 7-5 Post 23.

Re: POST 23 Game updates
Here is some info that I have concerning the Post 23 Junior team schedule, they travelled to Chillicothe today and then will start the Ashland tournament on Thursday. Here are some game times for the tournament:
Thursday @ 5:30 p.m. , Friday @ 12:00 and 3:00 p.m. , Saturday @ 12:30 p.m.
I know the game on Thursday is being played at Boyd County and will update where the remainder of the games will be played at but am guessing Boyd County also.
The Junior team got the number 2 seed for their district tournament game which will take place on July 11.

The Post 23 JV team played two games in the Ashland Tourney after a few hours of rain delays. The games were played at Boyd County H.S. and they split on the day. The first game saw the JV team take on Pikeville where they came away with a win of 6-5, the second game they took on the Oldham Aces and lost 4-2. Both games had a time limit of two hours. They play Saturday at 7:00 p.m. at Boyd County H.S.

Re: POST 23 Game updates
Post 23 picked up a win last night, Tuesday, against Washington Courthouse 10-4. Shawn Cook, a graduate of Minford and Rio Grande signee picked up the win for the boys in blue.
Re: POST 23 Game updates
The JV team starts tournamnet play on July 11 at 6:00 p.m. facing Chillicothe Post 62 at Circleville High School. Then with a win they play July 12 @3:00 p.m. or with a lose they play July 12 @ 9:00 a.m. with all games now at Teays Valley H.S., championship game will be played on July 13 @ Teays Valley H.S..
I know the Varsity team has a few games left before they start tournament play and as noted the JV team is getting started in tournament play and I think some thank yous need to go out to some people before these two teams finish for the summer. Thanks needs to go to: Tim Martin, The Minford Board of Education, Dean Schuler, The Valley Board of Education, Michael Estep, and The Wheelersburg Board of Education for allowing both Post 23 teams to use your facilities during the summer.
Thank yous need to be given to the coaches: Jack Branon, Lance Davis, Dean Schuler, and Danny Bradshaw, who donated their time to both teams, the dedication to improve baseball in the area, and the knowledge that they gave these young men to use either at the next level or take with them to their next season in high school.

Re: POST 23 Game updates
I second the thanks to the names that Fungo mentioned in the above post, no one is more excited than I that Post 23 is up and running strong again. And even with a younger team. My son has a blast playing for Coach Brannon and Coach Davis and his teammates. It is some great memories and great baseball and is a tradition.
The game is cancelled tonight against the Ohio Warhawks. Guess Slusher thought Post 23 was gonna be too much for his Hawks- LOL!! Hopefully they will reschedule.

Re: POST 23 Game updates
U can add me to the list, also!! The last 2 yrs has been the best 2 yrs for summer ball for my son. My family an I have made ALOT of new friends that will last a life time. Thanks Very Much for all of the GREAT MEMORIES!! The only thing that was missing this year was Coach Bregen(sp)!!!
Re: POST 23 Game updates
American Legion baseball is a great time. It's a whole different experience than college baseball as it's almost like you're playing minor league baseball. The friends from the other schools last a life time too.
Re: POST 23 Game updates
The Post 23 JV team travelled to Circleville and came away with a 7-0 win against Chilli Post 62. They travel to Teays Valley HS on Saturday and play at 3:00 p.m. against Chilli Post 757. A win in this game puts them in the championship game on Sunday at Teays Valley HS at 3:00 p.m., a loss will have them playing again on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. and having to win to make it to Sunday. Double elimination. Good Luck Post 23 JV.

Re: POST 23 Game updates
Post 23 swept Hillsboro tonight in a DH at Hillsboro. Shawn 'Atlas' Cook picked up a 10-1 win in game one. Bryan White and Adam Wamsley both had a HR for Post 23.
In game two, Post 23 won 15-1 behind Adam Wamsley's stellar performance on the mound. White added another HR in game two. The boys in blue had the bats out and in use tonight. If I am not mistaken, Post 23 moves to 30-14 on the season.

Re: POST 23 Game updates
Catch 24, D thinks he has 9-10 but I am not 100% sure. Peanut has around 7 and Harcha has 5-6. White has hit several lately.
Re: POST 23 Game updates
Glad to see Cook making noise. How is his pick off move? Is it still nasty?
