The invite was for any high school player. Have to call Coach Martin for the price.

my son participated this past weekend at the minford showcase.while it was a well organized showcase,i was terribly disappointed that all but one of the college coaches left before the showcase was completed.the head coach from rio grande stayed the whole time.there was good talent performing so nobody can say that there was nothing left worth watching.this is not a criticism of coach martin, but i will say that for a $100 player fee in the future, coaches ought to stay out of commom courtesy if nothing else.

i agree, but the thing about it is that coach martin cannot make a coach stay, all the coaches seen the players run the 60 and do infield and outfield, if the coach was interested in a kid they would have stayed to watch, no disrespect to anyone, im not saying that they were not intersted in any of the kids in the second game.

I heard this showcase was very watered down and not very good. Before you jump on me, this is just what I heard. No disrespect. Baseball to me is very important, but I have seen a very big drop in talent the last 10 years in SE ohio in baseball. Why? Lack of playing and becoming a "football" or "basketball" star? Maybe. Or it could be the talent level across the board is down.

again, this is not pointed at coach martin.also, anytime you have 45-55 kids there are going to be some watered down talent.having said that, the running, throwing, and fielding is only part of it.since the only hitting that took place was in the p.m. scrimmages,a coach would not see if the kid hit well and/or had the hitting look of a player.if anybody is a baseball person, how many times have you heard "if you can hit, they will find you a spot in the lineup".my only point is about 10 coaches began the day and 1 ended the day.

Does anyone know which coaches were there besides Warnamont from Rio?

Not sure on names but here are a few of the schools I can remember. WV State, Shawnee State, Ohio State, Marietta, Ohio Dominican, U of Cincinnati, Rio. A few pro scouts as well.
