I know I'm leaving tons of great players out, but these 10 came to mind pretty quickly. Pardon the Green heavy list...Just what I know best.

No particular ranking...

1. Brian Roach (GHS)
2. Tim Brumfield (GHS)
3. Justin Myers (SVHS)
4. Chad Renfro (SVHS)
5. Keenan Perry (NB)
6. John Hunt (GHS)
7. Andy Lester (SVHS)
8. Jeremy Hughes (GHS)
9. Bill Ison (GHS)
10. John Paul Patterson (SVHS)

Something to start with. Love the topic though and would like to see it ran with.

Keenan Perry from NB was great, he was on a terrible team. But had like a .550 avg. with maybe 20 homers.
Also, Tim Harr from NB, led NB to the SOC title his senior year in '84.

1. Brett Roberts from South Webster.......I believe he made it to AAA with Twins.
2. John Hunt from Green........Played for Ohio U. and drafted in 5th round by White Sox.
3. Renfroe from Symmes Valley.....they weren't in SOC when he played, but played in Red Sox organization.

kennen perry was an awesome player. i played against him when he played at newboston. i remember he was our only competition. he hit towering homers all the time. he had over 30 homeruns in his carrer and batted almost .500 for his carrer

South Webster was/is SOC Division II so Roberts would not qualify on this list. I agree with Keenan Perry, Jon Hunt of Green, and definitely Brian Williams of ND. How about Marc Cottle of Clay, Dustin Paxson of East, Todd Loper of New Boston, Ryan Rutman of ND, to name a few more.

Bucknut23,
Played against Paxton and Rutman, and will agree. Both had nice command from the mound. Couldn't necessarily blow it by you, but knew how to pitch and how to set batters up. Nice additions to the list.

There isn't any recent talent that could make the list, like since the year 2000.....?

there just hasnt been any stand out players. i believe it starts young. little league in recent years in the rosemount area has gone down. the last pretty good team i remeber is the 01 clay baseball team. they had a pretty good catcher that hit a lot of home runs. but he cut his fingers off or hand or something like that right before tournaments. but that was a pretty good team.

I'm not saying that these guys would make the list, but there have been "Stand Out" players in the SOC since 2000, one for example....Zac Alexander was pretty good...Mader was pretty good too....

Do you realize what a .550 BA is? He isn't listed anywhere in the OHSAA record book......

What about an SOC II Team?

Tim Tackett ('90 from Waverly) would have to top the list...Drafted by the Red Sox in 1990!

I'll throw another name out - Shane Salyers of Green was pretty solid as a LH hitter, OF and catcher back in the late 1980's early 1990's.

the osbourne and kier kid were both good. but i played against both of them and i dont think they were as tough as some other players i have played against. i hate to say this coming from clay but matt mader from nd was a better player than the kier kid imo. od kelly from green was also a very good player. but they werent soc all time worthy.

60ft 6,

My understanding on the OHSAA records is that is has to be sent in via the school's AD or the coach himself--which may be the case for Perry. Definitely a shame that accomplishments like .550 go unrecorded. Tons of h.s. players couldn't hit .550 in batting practice. This kid could rake!
